We loved Oaxaca city and casa oaxaca, such a great end to our pacific road trip thru mexico. Took us longer than anticipated getting here from the coast due to the steep and winding roads, but so worth it once here. In a lovely part of town with lots of plazas and interesting shops, bars and restaurants nearby. Had dinner... More

Dinner for four tonight with reservations... Absolutely delightful dinning experience! Perfect cocktails! Rooftop with a view of the Santo Domingo Cathedral. The food was artfully presented and delicious! From the on the house salsa made table side to the pescada del dia... Amazing! Other favorites at the table were the floras de amarillo and the pulpit! Perfect evening!

Casa Oaxaca is a delightfully secluded oasis in the heart of town. The service exceeded our expectations, with every employee going out of their way to help and make our visit enjoyable. Thank you Adrid, Florencio and Tino, and all the others who turned down our bed, prepared our delicious meals and chilled margaritas, and always greeted us with smiles.... More

This was our New Year's Eve dinner, and everything about it was perfect. The space is gracious, in a courtyard of the boutique hotel. The tables are set well apart, and the service is very attentive, in a completely non-obtrusive way. The food was extraordinary The first course was one wild mussel with saffron, pineapple and chilli. It was a... More

Dropped in for lunch, our last before leaving Mexico. Had been to la Pitiona, which was great, and wanted a comparison. Decided we'd share three plates. Couldn't believe the sizes of the courses, extremely generous. Before the first course even came the waiter ground up a salsa at the table with tomatillos, chillies, regional tomatoes etc. checking with us first... More

Beautiful premises, helpful staff, nice breakfast and quiet, comfortable rooms. Convenient location and good WI-FI connection. Because it is very small (7-8 rooms at most), you need to book with good advance.

The location is beautiful. We ate on the balcony. There was a heat lamp to keep me warm. (I chill easily). We had the ceviche. We had a cheese and avocado and Chapuline plate that was out of this world! We shared the mushroom soup and then we ate the sucking pig. We drank several small batch mezcals, and had... More

Four diners; four outstanding meals from a restaurant whose people are as passionate about their food as they are Oaxaca's unique region(s) and their place in it. Lovely rooftop dining on a quiet street. Whatever you do, don't pass-up the Tamarind Water--it's worth a trip all by itself!

Don t get me wrong, I love the traditional Oaxaca style. But it was very refreshing to see something different/modern. I walked by and looked through the windows. This place literaly dragged me in. I only had a drink, excellent and very strong Margarita. Stayed at the bar. Love the design of this place ... very elegant and cozy.
