We stayed here for two nights in June (2014) the owners/hosts are very friendly and gave us great advice on where to go and where not to go. Our room was great with a clean shared bathroom. Right opposite the hostel is Hotel Rivera de angles where you get the shuttle to monte alban for 60 pesos. Food markets are... More

The owner Emilio is really friendly and helpful. The hotel feels really safe with a gate that remains locked at all times and only guests can enter. The room is very clean with a fan, safety deposit box and water provided. We had a shared bathroom there are 2 separate rooms each with toilet and shower so wasn't a problem.... More

We stayed in a private room with a shared bathroom for 5 nights, the entire place is clean and comfortable and the bathrooms are kept immaculate! The hosts are very helpful and kind and gave us plenty of directions and recommendations. Located in downtown, a short walk to the Market and the Main Square.

I stayed here 6 nights on a working holiday, the room was very clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable and even big enough to include a table and armchair. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating and brought me coffee early every morning while I was working! The wifi signal is excellent. The shared bathroom was okay for the first few... More

I booked into this hostale for 2 nights in February 2014, and chose it because of the reviews I read here. I can only echo what most people say - Emilio and Marta are lovely, very helpful, full of information - just ask and they will recommend where and what to eat, I followed up their recommendations and was pleased... My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in December 2013. We might choose here again if we haven't happened to know the ugly attitude of old owner couple. First of all, I understand why many people recommended this hotel. It has nice rooms, clean and cozy. And the cleaning ladies are so hardworking to make the rooms neat.... More

As some people have already said, don Emilio and his wife are the real stars of this tiny hotel. Always helpful, with a smile on their faces and ready to give you all kinds of information about the area. My spotless room was quite large, with two single beds and a fan on the ceiling. I got a bottle of... More

My husband and I stayed at El Quijote for two nights at the end of August, and we were very pleased to be here. El Quijote is not a large hotel with concierge or reception but more like a large family home. It is very secure and arriving at 7am after the night bus from Tuxtla Guiterrez, the front door... We had a fabulous stay at El Quijote. The rooms are very big, comfortable and clean, with great attention to detail - tissues, free bottles of water each day, lots of hooks for wet towels/jackets, etc. The hosts are super friendly and helpful - and very caring. My friend was sick whilst we were there and they brought her hot... More

We stayed here for 3 nights and I can't really fault the place. Sure, it maybe a bit "far" from the Zocalo, but that's about it. The owners are very welcoming and super friendly, and the place is clean and quiet. When my girlfriend got sick they were very accommodating. I booked a day tour with them, and while it... More
