The staff is outstanding. We loved our room....a room fit for a kind & queen. Antonio is a wonderful asset. He recommended great restaurants, attractions and was generally a terrific resource. The location is fabulous. Just down the hill from the gorgeous Santo Domingo cathedral...an incredible church.

An old building with a typical courtyard has been remodeled into a boutique hotel with only 6 or 7 rooms, all spacious and well appointed. The courtyard has a retractable roof and serves as dining and common area. Rooftop spa has nice views of the city. Service and food were gracious and delicious. When we arrived at night, after a... The outside of this historic street-front hotel doesn't say much about what you'll find inside. Once you pass through the large front doors (gate), you will be transported to a different time. The courtyard style interior feels safe, peaceful, and quiet. There are friendly staff members on the property around the clock, and they are eager to help. This is... More

Loved the high quality standards of the room/suite. We don't ever go to a luxury hotel, because we don't like how it seems to separate you from your destination. Neither do we ever take advantage of the luxury amenities, but Palacio Borghese was perfect. The room was spotless, and incredibly beautifull. Loved the breakfast with an abundance of fresh fruit,... Stayed two nights the week before Easter - this is a beautiful old building with only a few rooms/suites but the service was impeccable and there was always someone available to look after you. With the main cathedral square only a couple of blocks away this hotel is ideally located as it is really close to, but not right in... More

This hotel is perfectly located, just down the road from the Santo Domingo church. The cab ride into town from the airport was 130 pesos (for a shared ride, it was around 200 for your own cab). We stayed 4 nights at Palacio Borghese. For the price and previous reviews we really thought the hotel would be around 5 stars, I would say it was more like 3.5. It was somewhat disappointing. Dear GP We appreciate all your comments, effectively when you got to your room the first day the air conditioning worked very well, so there was no problem at your first night. Second night at about 9 pm there was a blackout in the whole town, that's why the air conditioning got broken. You reported this to the front desk... More
