My boyfriend and me stayed for 3 nights in this hotel. At first they seemed quite friendly, but after some time you could notice everything was focussed on money. Everything you asked for, you had to pay. Our last day, we had to put our luggage in the storage room. We had a night bus to our next destination. We... More

By Mexican standards this was amazing. Family-run place with fan rooms, comfy beds, powerful showers (with hot water), nice social areas, on-site library, hammocks for use in shady area and beers for sale. Close enough to the town centre to walk in.

My family and I stayed in this hotel during a recent visit to Oaxaca, and had an incredible time. The setting itself is beautiful - open courtyard with vibrant trees and plants. While the accommodations are modest, this was perfectly fine, as you shouldn't be spending much time in your room anyway while visiting this wonderful city! There are great... More

If you are looking for high end or very close to zocalo, Casa Arnel would not be an option but for those who would like to stay in quaint Jalatlaco, just a few blocks from Llano Park and walking distance to other city center sites, this is an excellent choice (among other lower priced hotels). Friendly staff, pretty, green inner... More

Casa Arnel has provided a comfortable, friendly refuge for travelers for many years. It has a great vibe - a good mix of young international travelers with an older, frequent traveler crowd. The staff is helpful, the rates are reasonable, the location is excellent in the desirable neighborhood of Jalatlaco - easy walking from centro but a quiet residential neighborhood.... More

We stayed two nights here as part of a group tour. We came in very late at night and I was very happily surprised when I saw the hotel in the morning. The rooms face a lovely central courtyard with trees and flowers as well as many singing birds and parrots (in cages) who occasionally fly around. There is also... More

I really like this hotel. It's one of my favourites on this trip so far. Still basic but with plenty of charm and friendly staff . The courtyard is very attractive . Our room had an air conditioner and the bathroom even had had a hairdryer . Easy walk to the main square and restaurants .

Courtyard is appealing (although personally I don't like birds in cages and there was a lot of them), library was good. Room fine, we had a window, fan could just about keep up with weather, next time I would probably pay a little more to stay somewhere with aircon. Bathroom ok, shower cold, but weather was hot so ok by... More

I have visited Oaxaca City several times in the past decade, and I have always stayed at Casa Arnel. The rooms are small but pleasant. The interior courtyard is green and tranquil. I like the rooftop patio or terrace. Prices are reasonable.

This place is cute like the town and is walking distance to most places so good location. Room is clean and tidy but the showers are terrible No water pressure, had to run it for 10 mins to even get hot water. The roof terrace is a lovely spot to relax.
