We spent 8 nights in Casa Arnel, changing rooms one time because we went away for afew day in the middle of our stay..OUr rooms were small and the beds really hard. The first room had a pretty lousy shower and it got the whole bathroom wet, but the second room was much better. I would recommend getting a room... More

The only reason I've given it 4 rather than 5 is for the water pressure in the shower. I never really got more than a trickle. Otherwise the rooms were great. Comfortable beds, good wifi signal and friendly staff. It really felt like a family hotel. Although the downside of that was that the family actually does live here so... More

Budget hotel, pretty, lush garden, family run. That said, you have to keep on them to have things up to standard. Dead cockroach in my room (at least it was dead) Wifi almost non-existent.Noisy at times. Bathroom basic -- leaky shower head, no mat on floor, water went everywhere. Lovely view from the roof, a good place to have a... More

Bathrooms were dirty. We asked for them to be cleaned and they weren't. There was only one share bathroom available per floor with about 15 rooms on each. No soap provided and shower heads leaked or barely worked. Worst place I've ever stayed at.

The Lonely Planet described this place as charming- I don't know what they were talking about. We stayed here with a tour group during day of the dead celebrations 30th Oct- 1st Nov and we had to share bathrooms which normally would be fine but these were disgusting. The rooms were small and hot and full of mosquitoes. While we... More

The rooms are very basic and if you are on the upper floor carrying your luggage up and down a small and steep staircase can be kind of risky. And the staff will help you only if expressly requested and not kindly. The location is not bad but anyway it takes 15 minutes to walk to the center. The WiFi... More

Stayed at Hotel Casa Arnel for 2 nights with tour group. My friend and I shared a small room with single beds each. The room was small but sufficient as a base. There was a screened window with blinds, however with this opened it was insufficient to allow a breeze on the hot nights we were there, so we opened... More

Inexpensive and clean, in one of the city's oldest, and visually stunning, neighborhoods. Good place to meet interesting travelers and some long term visitors who swear by Arnel. The family run hotel an easy walk to anywhere in Centro, as well as very close to the long distance bus station- not to mention the baseball stadium. A helpful and pleasant... More

A good place for the price. Nice people, nice place with a nice big balcony lot s of trees/green the center of the hotel. Room was nice without being great , bathroom was not very clean which is the main reason why I don t give it 5 points. Overall, it s a good place for the price but there... More

Two of us rented a Casa Arnel apartment across the street and visited the hotel frequently for breakfasts at the common tables which were pleasant, tasty and well-priced, and for the lovely setting. The family is warm and helpful and we really felt at home here. The Jalatlaco neighborhood is quiet and beautiful as well as being very conveniently located... More
