The moment we pulled up in front of the purple door, I couldn't wait to begin our adventure! What awaited inside was an oasis amidst a City & STATE yearning to be explored. Casa Colonial is not a hotel. It is not just a place to lay your head after a flavor filled day...the Casa is the perfect blend of... More

First stayed here with a small group, and recently with family. The rooms are comfortable with plenty of space. There is not a lot of light in many of them, which keeps them cooler, and has the added benefit of getting you outside- but you will want to use the fans to avoid feeling stuffy. The courtyard is a riot... More

The Casa Colonial is a real home away from home and a pleasure to return to at the end of a long day. The staff are helpful and trustworthy, and it's a great value. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast and cena, the courtyard, the Casa dog Durango, the help of the manager (Amado), meeting other guests, the library, and the... More

We cannot say enough good things about this place! From the moment we walked thru the purple doors, we were treated like family. The lush garden setting is something straight out of a dream. The rooms are charmingly decorated, each one unique. The breakfast in the morning was some of the best food we had during our time in Oaxaca.... More

All rooms surround a lush garden landscape and the place is beautifully decorated to reflect the Oaxacan culture. The owner and staff are gracious and welcoming. One of the nicest aspects of this unique B&B is the community feel - dining with fellow travelers provides a wonderful way to meet interesting people.

I can't recommend this opportunity enough! I had a wonderful three weeks partaking in Casa Colonial's artist residency; Obracadobra. The residency is completely self-lead, giving you both time on your own to create and an absolutely beautiful and inspiring place to do so. Located at the back of Casa Colonial, the accommodation is very private with your own massive, covered... More

The owner and staff at Casa Colonial were so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure all my needs were being met and offered help in knowing what to see and do in the amazing city of Oaxaca. The Casa is very clean and offers so much... a true Oasis with the beautiful lush and green courtyard... More

We had an excellent and unique stay/artists residency at Casa Colonial, as two artist's who were hoping not only to visit the incredible area of Oaxaca de Juarez and surrounding towns, but also to spend some dedicated time in studio for the month we had away from work. The result was a great combination: an excellent vacation blended with a... More

So glad that I got to be part of a Oaxaca Tour group that stayed at Casa Colonial. The easy-walking-distance location to the historic city center combined with the quiet beauty of the interior garden setting and the attentive but discrete staff made Casa Colonial a great choice for lodging. I can't think of a single thing I would change...I... More

I spent 2 weeks at Casa Colonial while visiting Oaxaca and studying salsa there. I highly recommend this destination. It is so much more than a hotel. More like a bed and breakfast, although very reasonably priced lunch and dinner are also available. The management and staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and pleasant. As...
