All rooms surround a lush garden landscape and the place is beautifully decorated to reflect the Oaxacan culture. The owner and staff are gracious and welcoming. One of the nicest aspects of this unique B&B is the community feel - dining with fellow travelers provides a wonderful way to meet interesting people.

I can't recommend this opportunity enough! I had a wonderful three weeks partaking in Casa Colonial's artist residency; Obracadobra. The residency is completely self-lead, giving you both time on your own to create and an absolutely beautiful and inspiring place to do so. Located at the back of Casa Colonial, the accommodation is very private with your own massive, covered... More

The owner and staff at Casa Colonial were so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure all my needs were being met and offered help in knowing what to see and do in the amazing city of Oaxaca. The Casa is very clean and offers so much... a true Oasis with the beautiful lush and green courtyard... More

We had an excellent and unique stay/artists residency at Casa Colonial, as two artist's who were hoping not only to visit the incredible area of Oaxaca de Juarez and surrounding towns, but also to spend some dedicated time in studio for the month we had away from work. The result was a great combination: an excellent vacation blended with a... More

So glad that I got to be part of a Oaxaca Tour group that stayed at Casa Colonial. The easy-walking-distance location to the historic city center combined with the quiet beauty of the interior garden setting and the attentive but discrete staff made Casa Colonial a great choice for lodging. I can't think of a single thing I would change...I... More

I spent 2 weeks at Casa Colonial while visiting Oaxaca and studying salsa there. I highly recommend this destination. It is so much more than a hotel. More like a bed and breakfast, although very reasonably priced lunch and dinner are also available. The management and staff went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and pleasant. As... This was my fourth trip to Oaxaca and I always talk about Oaxaca and Casa Colonial as if they were a package deal. Casa Colonial is beyond wonderful! The setting is a garden paradise including all kinds of birds and Oaxacan art. I adore the fact that a single as well as a group can coexist in this beautiful, peaceful... More

Casa Colonial is like no other hotel in Oaxaca. The friendly staff combine the best services and hospitality of a B&B with a full-service hotel. We especially enjoyed the library room with its endless shelves of English and Spanish reading material and its relaxing atmosphere. Free WiFi is available in the hotel's library room at all hours (signal is not... More

Very good location, a natural haven in the middle of the city. Makes you want to sigh when you come through the front door of the Casa. Lot's of interesting creative folks to interact with without feeling pressure to socialize. Great food, helpful and sweet staff.

We just returned from a wonderful stay at the Casa Colonial. We have been going there for many years and we could not have been more comfortable or well taken care of. The Casa Colonial is a oasis in Oaxaca. Starting at daybreak you are served a delicious breakfast. The staff are friendly and always helpful. The Casa is simply... More
