I had the distinct pleasure of staying for over a week as the Casa. Every minute was a pleasure. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. I loved the fact that I could sleep with my door open. The big purple door kept me safe and so did 'Lena. She was there to meet me when I arrived and there... more

My husband and I and another couple stayed at Casa Colonial from Nov.4--7, 2009. We were warmly received. Yes, the rooms did not lock, but the entire place was very secure . The rooms were a good size, with a good bathroom, interesting objects and pictures---not fancy and could stand freshening up, but comfortable. The garden was fabulous!! We enjoyed... more

My husband and I chose Casa Colonial because of the great reviews, but we were sadly disappointed. We arrived at 10pm at night and were given no information about breakfast, the B&B, or anything to do with our stay. We were wordlessly shown our room and then the staff member left. We were not given a key to either the... more

Casa Colonial was perfect for the 9 of us. We stayed 9 days and ranged in age from 8 to 70. I wanted to stay at a bed and breakfast that was reasonably close to town but would still involve some walking, is moderately priced, and had a main room. In this case, Casa Colonial had a huge library room... more

We spent 10 days in Oaxaca at Casa Colonial. We loved every aspect of our stay! The staff, gardens, food, salon/library, and overall hospitality are unsurpassed. There is no better place to eat in Oaxaca. Theresa is magic in the kitchen. The rooms are very comfortable. The Casa even has its own resident dog to make you feel right at... more

We came to Casa Colonial during Dia De Los Muertos. Nico, our tour guide, was an expert on Oaxacan Culture, it seemed like he knew the answer to any question we had for him. The staff at the Casa where very friendly and the food was incredible - I already miss waking up to a full breakfast and the homemade... more

My husband and I have been travelling to Oaxaca for over 30 years. After many pretty good and not so good experiences, we have finally found the perfect place! We spent Sept 28 - Oct 2 as our first visit to Casa Colonial B&B. This place is absolutely beautiful and has exceptional service. It is about 6 blocks from the... more

Lush garden and thick adobe walls provide a cool haven from urban Oaxaca sun and sounds. Wonderful staff, all friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the garden-facing dining room prepared by Theresa and served by Ramona is a a treat not to be forgotten. Large rooms with beautiful tile floors and decorated with local art. We would definitely return there. more

Oaxaca and Casa Colonial are enchanting. From the moment you enter the purple door of Casa Colonial, you feel at home. Jane, Amado, Korhal and the staff are friendly, attentive and accommodating, setting up outings and making recommendations of sights to see and places to eat (until you discover that the Casa's talented cooks are as good as, if not... more

My first trip to Oaxaca was totally enjoyable, due in great part to the accomodations and staff at Casa-Colonial. The casual, at-home atmosphere, created by the casa itself, the beautiful gardens, staff, and owner Jane Robison, made for beautiful mornings to wake up to, and a comfortable retreat any time during the day or evening. And, the food could not... more
