This hotel had pros and cons. The price was good. The breakfast was adequate in quanitity and price. The room was clean and comfortable with hot water. The colors were great. In warmer months, it might get hot. There is a good ceiling fan, but the two windows open onto the hallway and you might not want them open at... more

Stayed 11 days and each and every day was great...good food, very helpful and friendly staff, close enough to the innner city sites to make an easy walk of it...the tours offered of the ruins and other sites outside the city were not very good...not enough time at Mitla and Monte Alban...disappointed with that but not the hotels fault....Mario you... more

Hotel Aitana is a typical Latin American hotel for those who prefer not to stay in "big name" chain hotels (ie Hoilday Inn, Sheraton, etc.). It's about a 10 minute walk to the Zocalo, which we liked because we could escape the business of the area at night. We didn't find the hotel to be particularly noisy either. It is... more

The hotel is a little bit outside of the main downtown area, but is still an easy walk to the zocalo and the city's other main downtown attractions. The rooms aren't fancy, but are pretty nice, with the best bathrooms (large, fancy fixtures, good toiletries) I've ever seen for a hotel priced at this level. There's also a computer in... more

First of all, the manager of the hotel, Mario Garcia, is absolutely there for you as a guest and visitor in Oaxaca- and following his example, the entire staff from the lovely woman who poured my delicious morning coffee to the daily maid, to the guy who helps carry luggage to your room- all friendly, delightful people. As Mario said... more

We had a great time at this hotel. It is very well located, just a few minutes walk from the zocalo, and even though it is on a quiet street we felt very safe walking back to the hotel at night. The outside of the hotel is quite unassuming but the door opens onto a lovely courtyard and the rooms... more

Okay, first of all I must emphasize that this is NOT a luxury hotel. However it is exactly what I needed for my stay in Oaxaca. 1) Location : It is central enough (a 3 minute stroll down to the Zocalo, make that 10 if you are a (very) slow walker) but it is far enough from the crowds of... more

I had been booked into this hotel through a third party while in town. It was my first stay in Oaxaca and I honestly didn't know what to expect. I did check out the reviews on this site, and remembered to ask to get a room in the back. Happily, the hotel was not bad. I'm not high maintenance so... more
