For Oaxaca lovers this is the place to stay, very centric location, almost everything is at walking distance. Service is very warm, hotel personnel makes you feel at home. Food is great and hotels services are also very good. Plan your stay here, you will not be disappointed! More

WE stayed at this hotel as part of our Honeymoon, and were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful decoration on our bed when we returned to our room on the first night. The food at the hotel was good on the occasions we ate there, and the staff were helpful. The only issue we had was that there was a wedding... More

I stayed here for four days on a short vacation. The hotel is in a fantastic location; a one minute walk to the Church of Santo Domingo and five minutes to the Zocalo. The hotel is large, old, and has lots of charm. The rooms are spacious, with wooden blinds that which completely block out the light and heat. There... More

OUTRAGEOUS TO CHARGE FOR INTERNET! Ditto on the charming hotel and location. But even the Fairmont and other grand hotels are not charging for internet these days. We are a two computer family and the Camino Real wanted to charge us for two codes. That’s $24.00 per day plus tax. I don’t care how charming the place is, I don’t... More

We stayed 4 nights at Camino Real Oaxaca. The hotel is simply amazing given that is it housed in a convent circa 1576. Our room was large with a very high ceiling, very nice bedding and amenities. It is also centrally located and easy walk to all the touristy sights. The restaurant is so so, but Oaxaca has so many... More

What a great place to stay! A convent in another life, refurbished to accommodate many guests. The rooms are small, but cozy. Nice and dark for sleeping, but the bed was a bit too soft. Water from the faucet has been purified. The restaurant is wonderful. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet which had way too many choices. It was pricey... More

I recently stayed at the Camino Real for my brother's wedding and was blown away by the beauty of the hotel, which was formerly a convent built in the 17th century. The atria and gardens are lovely and the walls retain traces of centuries-old frescoes; it was a magical place to stay. That said, the rooms themselves are pretty basic.... More

I booked this hotel for 5 nights via the website - which automaticaly connects you to Zapotel as the booking agent. unfortunately I had to cancel the booking and was charged a full nights accommodation for this. My friends who cancelled by phone were given a full refund. Carmino Real said this was nothing to do with them as Zapotel... More

I stayed at this hotel recently based on its location and reported ambiance. Both of these did not disappoint. I feel I have to mention, however, two problems I experienced during my stay in the interest of my fellow travellers. One night, I found a black curly hair in my tea cup from the lobby. The second, more serious, issue... More
