The Los Pilares is a small (15 rooms) hotel that doesn't look like much from the outside and the immdiate neighborhood looks even worse. However, inside, the Los Pilares is done very nicely. About half the rooms, reception and a lounge and "dinner only" area are on the ground floor, arranged in a courtyard fashion. The rest of the guest... More

I booked this for my family and my in-laws based on reviews I'd read here. Overall this was a pretty solid place for the money and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Positives: -- Rooftop Terrace w/ amazing plants, excellent breakfasts and terrific waiters. -- Free parking, easy to access. -- Good location in Jalatlaco neighborhood just east of... More

We stayed at Hotel Los Pilares in Oaxaca for three nights last week and had a mixed experience. Positives: - The room - An impressive size and really tastefully decorated - The bathroom - Also a good size with a really generously sized shower cubicle with both fixed and hand held showers. No problems with hot water, unlike a couple... More

Lovely hotel that caters mainly to Mexicans. We were the only Americans staying here as far as I could tell, but I liked that. It does help to know some Spanish though. Rooms were nice, nothing extravagant but better than basic. My sister was bothered by the light shining in from the inner courtyard, and I thought the courtyard could... More

We chose this hotel from what we read on TripAdvisor and it surpassed our expectations. The Decor is gorgeous, the restaurant is really good. The Breakfasts are delicious. It is only a small hotel so you would need to book ahead. The upstairs rooms are best. What made it extra special was the staff. They are all so genuinely friendly... More

Wonderful staff, great aromas of flowers in courtyard, and beautiful colonial rooms. A quiet and classy property. Be aware that it's about 10 blocks from the Zocolo. It's a pleasant walk however. If you're wanting to book a tour to Mitla or Monte Albans or wherever, don't book through the hotel front desk. We took their tour to Mitla, and... More

The hotel has a lot of character, it's quaint and very clean. The room was a good size, the bed comfortable and it had excellent wifi in the room which we were not expecting. The breakfasts were very good - beautiful fresh fruits, non-stop coffee - and the rooftop restaurant staff at breakfast were excellent. Sadly though, there were other... More

Hi, Thanks for all the comments, each signifying the need to improve our service day by day . Unfortunately they are right with building located nearby, which soon ended and we mean beautify the area in which we are located . I apologize for that. We hope to return to Oaxaca because it's amazing what they can know and enjoy.... More

We stayed in four different places in Oaxaca during our recent trip, and this is the first one we will choose next time we go back. The people there were wonderful and very helpful, and we miss the lovely breakfasts.

I just visited my daughter - she is going to school in Oaxaca. The hotel is beautifully decorated. I loved the lilies - the smell is wonderful. It is centrally located. The room was nice. We did need earplugs due to the noise from inside the hotel (restaurant) and noise outside (construction). It took about five minutes for the water... More

This is a quaint little hotel with excellent service and food, but I did not care for the rooms. There is nothing wrong with them per se, just not my taste. Breakfast at the terrace restaurant is a must. Lovey, polite and helpful staff.
