We stayed in four different places in Oaxaca during our recent trip, and this is the first one we will choose next time we go back. The people there were wonderful and very helpful, and we miss the lovely breakfasts.

I just visited my daughter - she is going to school in Oaxaca. The hotel is beautifully decorated. I loved the lilies - the smell is wonderful. It is centrally located. The room was nice. We did need earplugs due to the noise from inside the hotel (restaurant) and noise outside (construction). It took about five minutes for the water... More

This is a quaint little hotel with excellent service and food, but I did not care for the rooms. There is nothing wrong with them per se, just not my taste. Breakfast at the terrace restaurant is a must. Lovey, polite and helpful staff.

I'd been roughing it a bit in Oaxaca, so it was lovely to finally have a clean, comfortable bed, a long hot shower and some peace and quiet. The breakfasts were nice and the staff were friendly and helpful. The only small thing I'd change were the number of flowers and scented candles on the ground floor - with hayfever... More

The hotel is located in a quite area and the number of rooms does not exceed the 20. This is an old colonial building adapted as a “boutique hotel”. The staff had a good attitude and they were happy to assist us at any time. The rooms have enough space for a couple and are decorated with a traditional Mexican... More

I have stayed at this hotel twice, and on both occasions I have been impressed with its understated grandeur. The staff are absolutely wonderful; they accommodated not only a late night arrival, but also a return when a hurricane changed my beach vacation to a weekend in the city. It was never a problem getting the car in and out... More

I stayed at Los Pilares during the Day of the Dead festivities in November, 2013. The hotel was the perfect choice: great location; lovely room with 5 star amenities; charming public areas, especially the rooftop restaurant; and a great staff. I am especially grateful to Gus (who speaks flawless English) and to Roque who went out of their way to... More

My wife and teenage daughter stayed at Los Pilares for a week over Christmas vacation and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is laid out such that all rooms surround an enclosed garden area with flowering plants and trees. The furnishings in the bedrooms and open areas are high end and very comfortable and the rooftop restaurant is a little... More

If you are planning a trip to Oaxaca and looking for a nice centrally located hotel Los Pilares is just the ticket. It ‘s a small well-maintained Spanish colonial style hotel with all the amenities. All rooms face an open courtyard but are well protected from the tropical afternoon rains if you visit as I did during August. The staff... More
