It's not a fancy hotel it's simple and to the point it is clean and comfortable .full of Mexican charm and hospitality. The beds are a little hard our first night there we didn't like the bed and asked if we could change rooms and the clerk took to a couple of different rooms and let us choose the one... More

We have stayed at Aurora for several years, and could not be happier with its excellent location near the zócalo and markets, it's cleanliness, and reasonable price. This year it's got a new elevator, fresh paint, and efficient front desk. HOWEVER: we were shocked to find a note by the bed, informing us that if anything was missing from the... More

I am a frequent business traveler to Oaxaca Mexico. I've stayed in many of the hotels there but the Aurora was one of my favorites. The hotel is located in the very center of the town, just a few blocks from the main plaza. For American travelers with little experience traveling in Mexico the hotel will at first glance look... At my arrival to Oaxaca, I didn't have a reservation to any hotel. My opcion was to stay at a hotel I'd stayed at before but they had no space. To make my story short this hotel was recommend by a taxi driver and honestly I couldn't be happier. The hotel receptionist was welcoming and the room was good. Had... More

- 600 pesos per night - No hair dryer for rent The reason why we are giving the hotel a low rating because they had construction works going during the day and they did not even tell us about it. The drilling started 7am in the morning and ended 6pm. They did not give us any discount of even asked... More

I stayed there with my group. The hotel is 2 blocks from the main square. You can easily access all main sights from the hotel. They are doing work at the moment in the stairway but that do not affect in any way the comfort at the end of the day. They have a restaurant also on site, where you... More

We stayed in the Hotel Aurora for totally 6 nights in November 2012 and found it really pleasant for a reasonable price: Rooms are quite large, white walls with flower paintings, each with two double beds (comfortable big mattresses) and a bathroom with hot shower. The energy saving lamps spend a little too bright light, but they do their job.... More

I stayed at the Hotel Aurora for two separate nights. When I arrived in the first night, I found out that although I had booked rooms over the phone and received an email with a confirmation number, my booking was nowhere to be found. We were able to find rooms for all of us in the end, but the staff... More

Passed through Oaxaca twice recently about ten days apart, and stayed at the Hotel Aurora at a friend's insistence. Excellent advice and I'll gladly pass it along to anyone else. Hotel Aurora is definitely not to be confused with some all-inclusive resort, and the price of 400 pesos per night reflects that difference. On both nights the room was clean... More
