Great location, walking distance to parks, cafes and shopping. This is a beautiful hotel with friendly staff and nice touches. However, there are many things that I was unhappy with. There is no air-conditioning or ceiling fans in the rooms, neither are there screens on the windows. So, the first day we left our windows open to get some air... more

I usually stay at the Condesa or Habita when in DF, but this time around I tried the Hippodrome as a result of what is far and away the best hotel deal I've ever seen -- which I say as a former professional hotel reviewer who's reviewed boutique hotels throughout 20 countries: a "Barack Obama Stimulus Special" rate of $17.50/night,... more

Typical boutique hotel. Trying just a little too hard. No soft furnishings or floor treatments, so all noise from all communal areas and particularly the bar on a Thursday through Saturday night (typically until around 5am) is with you in your room. All my colleagues checked out after one night. Wireless internet didn't work. No hot water. more

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to the Mexico City area. The surrounding neighborhood of La Condesa is beautiful, safe, and filled with vibrant restaurants and shops. The 8 rooms in the hotel are modern, clean, and spacious. The hotel has a great restaurant/bar in the lobby level, and all guests have access to a beautiful gym... more

This hotel is situated in a great location in Mexico City and could be so much more! My first impressions were fabulous but the lack of cold or hot water for the majority of my 1 week stay was incredibly frustrating. The problems with ventilation and mosquitoes you could vaguely deal with (although not really for the price you pay)... more

I won´t add to the many accurate reviews already on this site referring to this hotel´s lack of airconditioning or fans, windows that don´t open in some rooms and presence of mosquitoes (very bad combination), along with noise both day and all night, except to confirm these problems all remain very alive and well. But I can add that we... more

I appreciated the very friendly and helpful staff while staying at Hotel Hippodrome. I also enjoyed the great location in Condesa - a nice remove from the bustle of the city, while at the same time convenient to all the major attractions. Furthermore the room was great. Nicely appointed, with a modern aesthetic and a very comfortable bed. Finally, the... more

Don't let a snazzy web site fool you. And buzz words like "boutique" are just a foil for the inept service, poor design and hassle that await travelers at the Hippodrome Hotel. I didn't care that my room wasn't ready when I arrived at the hotel at 3; I didn't care so much that the person at the "front desk"... more

I'm torn about this hotel - the staff are really pleasant and are trying hard but the facilities just don't justify the room rates. Firstly it's a small apartment building that's been converted and there are no public spaces - no lobby, no bar, no gym, nowhere to meet friends or sit and read a newspaper. The reception is just... more

"Give me the luxuries of life and I will willingly do without the necessities." Frank Lloyd Wright This is the quote that lies above the reception desk and it is definitely the philosophy of this hotel. The room had stone shampoo containers to match the shower, lovely lemon soaps, and dim lighting BUT the room was not ready at 3pm... more
