I stayed here the night I arrived in Mexico City and the night before I left. Price was 230 pesos for a single room - very clean with hot water at all hours, bed very comfortable, TV included. The hotel is about two blocks from the Zocalo and the Cathedral, close enough to hear the bells but not loudly enough... more

Hotel Rioja is a fantastic bargain in a top notch location only 2 blocks from the Zocalo in Central Mexico City. It is a budget hotel and the rooms reflect this to some extent as they are a bit old with basic bathroom immenities. You will not have plush beds and robes in the closet. But for less than $20... more

Nice hotel for what you pay. We were 3 nights at that hotel, having two double beds for three people. The room and the bathroom were clean. We liked the location of the hotel since it's very closed to the zocalo and to metro stations. There are many restaurants (in front of Cafe El Popular, good and cheap, open 24... more

This is a very well located small hotel. Rooms are very clean if basic and for 230 pesos per night for a single room (a bit over US$18 with the current exchange rate), you get your own ensuite bathroom, TV and telephone. Filtered water is provided. There is free wifi internet access in the lobby (plus a computer available for... more

A good value hotel with a great location, close to the Zocalo. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with modern tiled bathrooms, and fixtures and fittings of a quality you wouldn´t expect at a price like this. We stayed for five nights in October, and paid 280 pesos for a double room overlooking the street. There was traffic noise - the... more

We stayed for a week at this hotel and would highly recommend it. Two people, two beds, balcony onto the street, 340 pesos (approx $35). We didn't make a reservation in advance but unless you're there for some special event, it looked like they're large enough that they always have rooms available. The location is excellent -- easy walking to... more

The room was OK, although the balcony opened onto a very noisy street and during the night we got terribly mosquito-bitten. We had to leave the balcony open because there is no AC and no fan. However, that evening the receptionist charged me $5 for an extra guest in the room ( invited my student to stay with us instead... more

It is nicely renovated for a budget hotel. I stay there for 2 nts but after the second day, I decided to checkout because I could not stand the staff any longer at the Riojas . This hotel has the most unfreindly and rude staff I have ever experienced for a long while. If you are simply looking for a... more
