Hotel Downtown Mexico is funky, to say the least, but I liked it, and will most likely return. The location is superb. You are just a few blocks away from Plaza Constitution. The room was modern with what I would guess to be a soaring 30 ft. ceiling. The bed was comfortable, and the room was clean. Every amenity was... More

This hotel property offers so much more than most. The structure is a beautifully restored 17th century mansion located ever so conveniently in the Centro Historico. A commanding mural, ornate brick work, original tile floors, arches and columns surround a central courtyard below. An antique elevator ascends to the third floor where the building has been gently converted into a... More

Dear Cristina, MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS! You have made my day! I thank you for staying with us at Downtown Mexico and for writing such a wonderful review. You've described the hotel better than I could, ever. Carlitos, our driver, is the best and full of surprises. Sergio is a true service professional; coming from the restaurant side myself, it is so... More

This hotel is gorgeous and in an excellent location. However, there are some design flaws... There is no way to have privacy while using the bathroom. If a person is on the bed, they can look over and see you sitting on the toilet and vice versa. Very weird design and not sure why someone would choose to make it... More

Dear Guest, Thank you for staying with us at Downtown Mexico and for taking the time to write this review. Our hotel is in fact very design focused, however we do worry a lot for the comfort of our guests since without that it wouldn’t be much of a hotel. Our rooms are designed mainly for couples hence why the... More

Overall i had an enjoyable stay at the hotel as well as in the city. 1. The property and location - The property is very well located in the Centro Historico, close to the Zocalo and main shopping streets. This is fantastic for visiting the main attractions in the area, which are many. The area is very busy, somewhat noisy,... More

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your kind review and for staying with us at Downtown Mexico. I remember you well. If I am not mistaken, you had some quesadillas and a Diet Coke on the night of December 31st. It was a real pleasure helping you and speaking with you that night. Special thanks for recognizing our efforts... More

This is probably the most architecturally stunning hotel we have ever seen. Our room was cavernous... with vaulted ceilings and huge french doors which opened over the street below. The lobby is a garden-like wonderland, and the antique elevator adds a touch of whimsy. The hotel is connected to a series of lovely boutiques and restaurants. Do try the tapas... More

Dear Amy, Thank you so much for you comments and for choosing Downtown Mexico on your visit to Mexico City. I've said this before and I'll say it again, I too believe our hotel is a hidden gem (luckily not perfectly hidden). I apologize for the inconveniences our events caused you. I wished I had known about this since we... More

visually this place is a gem. stumbled upon it on a return trip to DF and promptly checked out of where i was staying. it doesn't quite feel like somewhere you would sleep. b/w the restaurants, shops, open interior courtyard and magnificent garden wall i'd call it a tourist attraction. it's not the most inexpensive place. but the amenities make... We stayed at the Downtown Mexico, a thoroughly modern Design Hotel tucked within the façade of a 17th century colonial building. The entire complex is a haven for the city’s cutting edge designers and restaurateurs and it made for an excellent base to start every day. We do recommend paying the extra for a room with windows that open out... More

We stayed 3 nights (Mon-Thurs) straight off the 11-hour flight from London. In keeping with the funky image of the hotel, our private airport transfer from Mexico City Intl was in a new Mini (fine for 2 of us and not huge amounts of luggage). The hotel is great - walking distance from the Zocalo and main shopping areas, the... More

We just hired a new chef with... More

I stayed here for 3 nights, WED-SAT. I recognized that the hotel has a 'chic factor' and that it's a hang out for the hip crowd, thus I could expect a little noise in the evenings. But not on WED night until 1 am! My room was well appointed, but faced and overlooked one floor below an outdoor terrace-style restaurant.... More

We stayed at Hotel Downtown for 4 nights whilst in Mexico City.
