This hotel blew us away. Set in the historical center, the hotel itself is a work of art. The food was some of the best we have eaten, and the staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly. It's a very busy, bustling, colourful location, which due it's design you can' t help but feel a part of. But the thick... More

While there were a few hiccups at Check in, our 4 night stay was amazing, in large part due to the hotel. Our room the first night (#3) was probably just what I asked for- very quiet. but there was no window to the outside (only courtyard) so we asked to be moved which they did. our room for the... I stayed at this hotel with a group of friends a few weeks ago. We had 4 rooms total. As many have already mentioned, the design of the hotel is beautiful and the atmosphere very sexy! Yes, service is very slow but we could live with that. My biggest complaint is that the hotel is very noisy due to the... More

I stayed in the Downtown hotel for 3 nights with my girlfriend from wednesday till saturday. I had good experience with the distrito capital design hotel in santa fe, mexico city, that belongs to the same group (habita) of hotels. I knew the colonial building complex, where the downtown hotel is located, before and it is an absolutely beautiful must-have-seens,... More

Downtown MexicoHotel is part of the "hip" Habita hotel group. It is relatively new and is in a great location in the revitalizing historic center of the city. Hotel is in an historic and renovated home/palace. There is a large courtyard that is open to the sky and The first floor is part boutique mall with popular restaurant. Nice atmosphere.... More

Dear Kip, Thank you very much for choosing Downtown Mexico and taking the time to comment on your stay. I apologize for not recognizing you on your second day during your stay; this is terribly shameful on my part. Indeed this Easter weekend was a lot busier than normal. The amount of foot traffic that came through our hotel that... More

Yes, the location is fantastic, right in the center of everything. But remember, you are in a very NOISY city (and I live in NYC!) We spent two nights in the Revolution Suite, which was lovely but super noisy. There is a disco directly above the suite, which makes no sense, as it's supposed to be the most deluxe room... More

We just returned from a 6 night stay at the Downtown Mexico Hotel. The hotel is gorgeous in it's classic yet contemporary and timeless design. Spent four nights here. It is a beautifully restored building, with meticulously designed rooms. The public sitting areas are lovely, and the restaurants all excellent, and the shops of high quality. This place is amazing. Before I start to rave about it though, I'll say the only negative which was the noise levels from the street were high and could hear a band playing in a bar nearby.
