I have been here for 2 weeks because of work and I have felt it like if I was at home.. they prepare a delicious Mexican breakfast and are as friendly as to help you find the type of places you look for. I was a little stomach-sick because of the change in food, but I was pampered with special... More

Fernando and Jorge are the best. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. This is Fernando's family home, made into a B&B by he and his partner Jorge. The breakfast is prepared when you're ready. The courtyard is lovely, as is the architecture. The several bird cages make for a nice 'nature' ambiance. The location is just perfect for anything... More

Fernando and Jorge Luis are excellent hosts and the property is beautifully maintained. They really made us feel at home. The location is quiet and secure and allows easy access the roam around Coyoacan. We will definitely come back when we visit Mexico City again.

We stayed at the Maria del Alma Guest House in Coayacan, Mexico DF last February 2015, and enjoyed the warm hospitality of Fernando and Jorge Luis. They were very kind hosts, and we had the most delicious breakfast everyday, and were told about the provenance of each prepared dish, which were Mexican. They were very solicitous of our needs, pointed... More

This is a beautiful, elegant and quiet guesthouse with a lovely breakfast and two sweet, sweet, helpful hosts. The courtyard is beautifully planted, and our big room had its own private patio. Don't even consider staying anywhere else! We have been all over Mexico, and this is my favorite place by far.

Maria del Alma is a gem. In every single aspect. Starting with the owner, Fernando, who is an adorable person. Intelligent, charming, cultivated and a great cooker. This last quality makes the breakfast in the courtyard something you long for since the night before. The decoration of the whole house is beautiful, but if you want the best, get the... More

Coyoacán is one of my favorite neighborhoods in Mexico city and Maria del Alma is on the perfect spot to explore it; a large and spacious house with a very personal and genuine Mexican vibe and a lovely garden hidden from the street. Our hosts made us feel at home, shared tips and prepared a wonderful breakfast for us. I... More

Located in the beautiful and peaceful Coyoacan neighborhood, Maria del Alma is a wonderful escape and tranquil getaway from the bustling, noise and populations of Mexico City's more populated locales--Centro Historico, Condesa, Polanco. It is extremely close to the Frida Kahlo Museum (two blocks away) and even is reminiscent itself of the famous blue house, Viveros--a beautiful park to run... More

We stayed two nights in a lower Queen bedroom at the back of this lovely property. I agree with the other reviewers who said that Fernando and his associate were gracious and welcoming hosts. The room was large and nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed, and a large bathroom. We enjoyed the breakfast very much, and especially sitting around afterward... More

Staying in Coyoacan

Neighborhood Profile
Coyoacan
Once you step into Coyoacán (“Land of the Coyotes”) you'll find picturesque parks and cantinas that will transport you back to the colonial era thanks to the brick and stone details of the area. Iconic writers such as Trotsky and great painters like Frida Kahlo seeked refuge and inspiration in this area, and you can see the unique spirit of this neighborhood reflected in its colorful market where nieves, sopes and all kinds of traditional 'antojitos' are a must try. Restaurants and cafés throughout its peaceful paved streets contain traditional but unique murals and decorations, where one can enjoy a mezcal at noon or the best churros with a cup of coffee.
