I stayed for a few nights in the summer with a friend and we were treated wonderfully by Alfonso. He is a very gracious host. He provides a good breakfast and excellent directions. I am planning to stay for my next trip to D.F. The hostel is walkable to the park, Anthro. museum, and metro stop. I only have two... More

My wife and I stay here at the beginning and end of a 3 week trip to Mexico. Everything was provided as promised. The owner Alfonso, was very helpful, accommodating and informed. This charming 4? story home has been in his family for generations. Roma Norte is quiet area compared to the chaos that is the Zocalo, but is close... More

My husband and I stayed here for one month when we first moved to Mexico City while looking for our apartment. Alfonso and Silvia were wonderful! They both went above and beyond to help us get to know the city and transition into our new home. We had numerous friends and family members stay there, and everyone loved it. We... More

I can only echo all the positive reviews below - this really is the place to stay in Mexico City! We spent 3 nights here and it was one of the best places we have stayed in 4 months of travelling. The building and rooms are lovely, with high ceilings, big windows, comfy beds and plenty of space. We really... More

Mexico City for us was the end of a 3 week long vacation throughout the country, so my travel buddy and I were ready for something quiet and higher quality. The room at Any's was clean, charming (we had windows and a cute little balcony), with a nice hot shower. The beds were pretty standard. We arrived after a long... More

Like all the other reviews state, the owner, Alfonso, is fantastic. Really helpful without being too overbearing. He offered to show us various rooms, helped us with suggestions on where to go and what to see, didnt charge us for the 1st night when we arrived a day late and didnt get mad when we lost our room key in... Anys Hostal is a great place to stay. It is an old beautiful converted house in La Roma/Cuauhtemoc area. It is way more like a bed and breakfast than a hostel, with private rooms and free breakfast and cafe in the morning. The owner, Alfonso, is gregarious and accommodating. It is clean, reasonably priced, and in a nice area within... More

Alfonso is a great and knowledgeable host. He also runs a cafe where delicious breakfast is served. We went off menu which was not a problem. Alfonso even offered to pick up my laundry at the next door laundromat. Our room was huge and the place has more the feel of a bed and breakfast. All rooms are different and... More

Both hostal and staff are nice, friendly, and accommodating. However, do NOT, under any circumstances, trust Alfonso's restaurant recommendations. The first time, he pointed us to a mediocre pozole restaurant. We decided to give him a second chance by asking him for something specific: chilaquiles. He directed us to Sanborns, which is the equivalent of Denny's in the States. Terrible!... More

We rented most all of Anys Hostal for a group of 17 going to a family wedding. Everything that has been said about Alfonso is not enough. It was fun to organize rooms, breakfasts, lunches, transportation, and sightseeing with Alfonso. The place is lovely, clean, and the cafe is a great place to eat and socialize. The location is pleasant... More
