Hostal Regina is located near the Zocalo, the historic central square of Mexico City. I stayed there twice, once before heading for Tulum, and second time when I returned. The location is superb and its near the Metro stop Isabela Catolica from which you can explore the rest of the city. There are numerous restaurants, shops and markets close by.... More

Good value, nice and clean and big rooms. The rooftop bar was cool and cheap, and the staff were really friendly. Bit loud at the weekend if you didnt want to party, but only till 12pm - after all it is a hostel not a hotel. Good facilities and great location. Best hostel i stayed in whilst in mexico by... More

Having been born and raised in the city, and now traveling as a tourist, Hostal Regina is like being back home!!! The building is amazing, the rooms a dream, Arlette and the rest of the staff, including security personnel, are outstanding, friendly, helpful, all smiles and always laid back and cheerful!!! Can hardly think of any other place I would... More

The hostel is very well located in the Historical Center. Apart from being close to many attractions, the quality is very high. The rooms are spacious, everything new, the bathroom is clean and modern and they have a bar on the roof which is perfect environment.

What an experience, the staff were extremely helpful 110% of the time. It was extremely clean, in outstanding order, secure, pristine, and beautifully built. The bar was very fun, and the staff were extremely fun and extroverted. Unlike most hostels, namely Hostel Amigo, the staff were friendly from start to finish. It is a very affordable hostel and is located... More

Large 3 story interior with central open space and rooftop bar. Lots of music and kitchen smoke rise up from the lower level There is no quiet place in the hostel. Great place if you want to party. If you want to sleep bring earplugs and be prepared for the hostal to admit 2:30 am drunks. intermittent internet and computers.... More

Unfortunately, I need to share my very poor experience with Hostal Regina. Despite my booking via booking.com I found on arrival in the evening that my room was given to someone else without even making an effort to check with me if I were coming. Reason provided: Hostal policy, although I pointed out there is nothing in the conditions that... More

We stayed in a private room for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay here. The location is golden with lots of bars and restaurants around the area. The bathroom was across from our room and it always had hot water. Rooms were clean but no daily housekeeping, which we didn't mind for our short stay. If you are a light... More

We stayed in the "family room" (2 king size beds, 2 ensuites and a mezzanine), which was lovely, but not typical of the dorm experience. The room was very comfortable, with a micro balcony overlooking the pedestrianised Regina St. Breakfast was nice for a bread + coffee hostel breakfast: a pastry and cinnamon brewed coffee from the cafe downstairs. The... More

Overall, I thought hostel regina was good. Was relatively clean, and staff were nice to deal with. A lot of travellers on trip advisor seem to complain about the noise. I did not find this to be a problem, also the hostel is in the middle of centro historico, so of course there is going to be some noise. The... More
