If you want something different from the high rise, big chain hotels, this is a great choice in Polanco. The hotel is, as advertised, an old house on a residential street between too bustling boulevards in Polanco (the Beverly Hills of Mexico City). The rooms are suites, with a little bar and kitchen area with stove, microwave, fridge and counter... more

We stayed at this place twice in 2006 and 2008. During 2008 the hotel was in transition with new (untrained) staff. The rooms are decorated according to Mexican motifs (Artists) and ours were spacious. The only inconveniences were the poor lightning and scarce windows. Because of its location (Polanco), there are good restaurants on the area. Try Patricia Quintana's El... more

Casa Vieja's rooms live up to the reviews of being charming, spacious and unique. It is definitely a boutique hotel and would rather stay here than the nearby super hotels (Marriott, W and Intercon). The suites are beautifully decorated with great facilities. We stayed in the Jose Posada suite which had only one external window, in the bathroom! The lack... more

This was a milestone anniversary/birthday trip. We had already visited Mexican beach cities but wanted to have a more urban vacation. The Casa Vieja was the perfect place! It is located in the Polanco area of the city very conveniently located near parks, museums and metro. We were able to walk and find lovely dining. We found the staff more... more

Exactly what we were looking for. Boutique hotel, typical mexican room setting and decoration, perfect location, very nice staff and efficient service. I really have only godd things to say about this hotel! If you like boutique hotels and don't want to find yourself in an intercontinental, a sheraton or a four seasons that looks exactly like the one in... more

I ended up in Casa Vieja because my first choice of hotel had no availability for the 2 nights of my stay. Well, I wish they hadn't had it for any night. It turns out Casa Vieja was so charming that I wanted to spend all my nights in Mexico City at this cozy, colorful and friendly hotel. The location... more

We called the Siquieros Suite home for 4 lovely nights. The hotel is located in a perfect area, you can walk to great restaurants safely at night. The park and museums of Polanco are a stroll away. You can walk 5 minutes to the well-patrolled subway and reach the Zocalo or any part of the city you would like to... more

After doing some research on hotels in the Mexico City we were excited to come across Casa Vieja. We don't like staying at big chain hotels so this hotel was definitely a find. It's very charming and cozy. The breakfasts were amazingly delicious. The room service was fast. The rooms were cozy and beautifully decorated. The hotel is located in... more

Well, to begin, the hotel is lovely. From the floral-covered entrance to the door of each room, it’s just what one would hope for. The photos on their website are very accurate, at least for my room. So I am including other views of the room. I notice that a previous review included a photo of a not-so-lovely view from... more

I am a single woman and travel to Mexico City for work a few times a year and always stay at the Casa Vieja. My colleagues stay at the business class hotels just a few blocks away, but the Marriott, Hyatt, Nikko, etc. always feel the same no matter where you are. Maybe that's important to some people, but when... more
