Two bedroom suites are roomy but this isnt a fancy place. The elevator is clunky, rooms are rather dark, and there's a broken exercise bike (only has one pedal) in the room I'm staying in. Also, the breakfast is mis-represented. Their "breakfast" is them leaving cookie and a cold thermos of coffee at your door each morning. There is no... More

As Spalding Gray used to say in The Terrors of Pleasure: "Location, location, location". Casa Castelar's location, in the heart of the Polanco district, is EXCELENT. For three or four times the price you can stay very nearby at better appointed big mainstream hotels nearby, but the instant you step out the front door you will be equally well located... More

We stayed here for five nights during semana santa and had a terrific time. This is a bargain hotel in a 5 star location. Nearby are hotels costing 3 to 4 times what we paid for a 5 night stay. Includes kitechenette, sky tv, wifi, and a continental breakfast served at your door. Is this the Presidente Continental---NO! But a... More

Recently was scheduled to stay there two weeks about after a number of issues and lack of customer care, we packed up and went to another place. Building in desperate need of an upgrade. Furniture is old and dirty. One night the reception desk sent us a phone call at 1am that turned out to be an extortion for money... More

Location was good and I enjoyed having a big apartment, not just a room. Everything was clean and bed was comfortable. Wifi reception in the room was REALLY REALLY BAD, so for business travellers if you need to have good Wifi signal, go to a different hotel. I tried to go to the living room and it was slightly better.... More

As I have read the reviews of this hotel before arrival, I knew the hotel did not have a signboard. We located No. 34 without much difficulty. The staff at the reception were polite and helped us with our many luggages. We booked the 2 bedroom penthouse as that was the only room available for our dates. We stayed 3... More

I stayed here while I was 4 months pregnant. The husband and I had bought tickets to a Radiohead show in Mexico City (before the whole pregnancy deal) and happened to know some people that lived here in Polanco. I felt extremely safe in this neighborhood and everything was in easy walking distance. Lots of restaurants, shops, and bars.. in... More

This hotel has a great location, one block from the hotel zone where the Hyatt (Nikko) and JW Marriott are located. It is also a block away from Lincoln Park. Although A/C is not necessary because of the cool climate in Mexico City, I had to leave some windows open overnight to keep the room from getting too stuffy. The... More

Upon arrival, one might wonder what you had booked into. A small barren entrance lobby; but the staff were efficient and upon entering the room, you saw a renovated suite, which was clean and adequate. The ratings given represent an opinion of a 3 star hotel. It has no airconditioning, but has fans. It was not hot when I was... More
