This boutique hotel is one of the cleanest, friendliest, and conveniently located places in the Central Historic part of Mexico City. Just three blocks from the main square or Zocalo, there are abundant restaurants, shopping of all sorts, and activities galore. Prices at this location are very economical for the nice amenities received. In a city of 23 million, location... More

First, the hotel itself. The big plus' for this hotel is location and price. It's two blocks from the Zocola, Cathedral, Templo Mayor, and National Palace, three blocks from Bellas Artes, and one block from Madero Street, the pedestian street and shopping. The negative is, there was no air conditioning, which wasn't really a big deal, just a little warm... More

Very friendly staff, we stayed there twice and they kept the suite with balcony free for us on the second occasion too. Also the restaurant is to be recommended. Good Wi-Fi, and hard to find a better location within easy reach of metro. Very strategic for visiting the Templo Mayor, Zocalo and eating at the Café de Tacuba, Cardenal or... More

My sister insisted we stay here and I can see why. They greeted me by name each time. How often does that happen? Clean, free full buffet breakfast, nice amenities, nice balcony, comfortable beds. They were there to answer my endless questions. The rooms had a nice traditional, Mexican decoration. Statues, carved wood, rod iron balcony, marble bathroom floors. Not... More

My newly-wed wife and I stayed here for five nights in March 2014. We had a room on the 6the floor, overlooking Isabel de Católica. The staff was not incredibly fluent in English, nor us in Spanish, but they were helpful and check in went smoothly. Initially, we had no power in the room. We were getting ready to call... More

We stayed here for 2 nights. The rooms were tired but clean. We got to see several since we asked for a room change. The problem was that every room they tried to move us to was already occupied. After visiting about 5 rooms they finally put us in one that didn't already have guests in it. It was spacious... More

Hotel Gillow claims to be a four star hotel... but it seems they handle a different definition than what I am used to (travelling in Europe). My reservation was made long in advance. However, when I arrived, it appeared that they were rather fully booked. Therefore, they wanted to upgrade me for one night only so that I would have... More

I was pleased to find a spacious room, comfortable beds, reasonable room rate (with cash discount!), on-site restaurant with good buffet breakfast (not included in room rate) as well as lunch and dinner menu. Walking distance to Zocalo as well as Bellas Artes. Nothing to complain about!

We arrived via the subway (Allende-for some reason it didn't stop at the Zocalo,5 pesos) and found this well-located, clean, and quiet hotel about 2 blocks from the Zocalo in Mexico City. The hotel guest service was impeccable with English-speaking clerks and a lovely lobby with beautiful statuary. We were in room 602 which had 2 double beds and a... More

This is our second time staying at Hotel Gillow. Hotel Gillow is a no frills hotel but is centrally located to many attractions. It is clean, well-managed, buffet-breakfast provided, and the price is right.
