Hotel could use new paint & carpeting. Rooms are nice & Very clean. Great bathroom. No coffee maker or free wifi. Great coffee shop(Token Cafe) on 2nd floor, Warning!!! Not open on Sunday! In the hotel ate at Morimoto (okay & $$$$), Maria Bonita (good$$), Centro Castellano (okay$$$). The catered snacks for the cocktail party at the hotel were mediocre... More

I stay again in this huge hotel. Nothing to say bad about the comfort of the rooms even if they would need some more light .. It is dark inside the room. The breakfast is very good and I recommend the steak house inside the hotel .. One of the best cote de boeuf I ever had in a very... More

Only stayed one night and managed to get breakfast and internet included in my room rate so was pleased with the overall price. Room was large and comfortable. Breakfast in Bice was good but although I only had scrambled eggs I had to pay a small "excess" fee which was surprising. Check out was delayed 15mins due to systems problems.

The room is big and has a lot of space. The bathroom is not that big, but it is ok. The only thing that I didnt like was that I took breakfast at 7:30am on sunday and they charged 380 pesos, about 30usd for eggs and juice, saying that sundays they had brunch and the price increased 100 pesos, 9usd.... This hotel is located in a small, bustling, modern, energetic area of Monterrey, walking distance to excellent restaurants, healthy, beautiful people, and a Starbucks (the hotel's coffee is absolutely horrible). The BICE Bistro is ok, good Illy espresso, but their breakfast coffee is disgusting. Very nice breakfast buffet, good fruit selection. The rooms are very nice, contemporary and solid. Definetely... This hotel (in Polanco) gives the impression of gouging its guests wherever possible. I was at a conference, otherwise I would never have stayed here. Everything cost extra, even Internet, which was free in every other hotel we stayed in Mexico (although all of those hotels cost half as much as the Camino Real). For a hotel of this class... More

The room was dirty, outdated and the lock barely worked. The staff seemed only worried about tips. The restaurants were over priced-$51.00 US for striploin steak and fries and the food was average at best. Well past it's prime.

expensive for the setting - a little old and tired with stained carpets and circuitous route through the hotel. a taxi ride from any decent restaurants but close to parks and museums. Staff was friendly and efficient but don't take restaurant recommendations from the staff - they twice recommend Villa Maria - which is a huge tourist trap. Most of... More

The El Camino Real at Polanco is an old and huge hotel. Despite being well kept, signs of time are evident. It has all the problems of a very large hotel, distances are phenomenal and an imposing sensation of not being friendly. The staff however is quite friendly and helpful. I have attended a meeting there. The architecture does not... More

Currently staying in this hotel during a tour in Mexico and it is hosting a conference with lot of people and no focus on details but only on tips. Rooms are old and quite sad with normal breakfast. If you can chose I'd go some where else and definitely is not a 4 star.
