1 star for calling a taxi that gave counterfeit change. It was only about $300 MX, but still, that's just not professional. I realized it when I took the next cab and barely had enough pocket money to pay the next driver. Lesson learned, but you would think you would be able to trust a service recommended by the hotel... We stayed here for 4 nights recently - the longest stay in Mexico for us unfortunately. While it is clean and the staff are friendly enough we were disappointed with a few things. Firstly there was a misunderstanding about our breakfast being included which was sorted out and we think the hotel sent a platter of fruit to our room... More

Booked this place with some hesitation based on the other reviews, but thought the location worth the risk. Turned out it was a great choice. Clean rooms with super thick windows for soundproofing. Busy lobby with lots of activities and people. The elevator is in a weird place, but other than that, no complaints. And the location is amazing. Concierge... More

I have never seen such a horrible accomodation in my life! We ended up here due to a problem with the hotel we booked and it was God awful! The rooms are minuscule and filthy, the furniture is ancient...all in all it looks like a grave! The. Breakfast was average and i don't even have words to describe the bathrooms...you... More

Walking distance to the zocalo or the Plaza de la Constitucion where Mexico City Cathedral and the National Palace. The Hotel is on a pedestrianized street which comes alive at night with artists, performers and vendors offering colorful souvenirs. Global clothing brands as well as lively restaurants and bars are along the street. It is also near the Palacio de... More

Where to start? Location is great, close to Zocola and restaurants., however be WARNED. This hotel suffers from poor management, which I turn reflects badly on the staff. By the time our 5 day stay was up we were glad to leave as we felt at every turn someone from this hotel had their hand in our pockets. First up,... More

Hotel location is centrally located, convenient to lots of shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions. The rooms are small dark and dingy, no AC, old, boxy type of TV, old dirty carpet and ongoing construction. I stayed 2 nights at this hotel because I prepaid my reservation on line, both days the cleaning staff woke me up by nocking on my... More

Great location as all others have stated. The hallway floor to our room was covered in plastic wrap giving it that fresh murder scene look, and they also had a TV graveyard lining the corridors. We appeared to have a recently renovated room and it was fine until they started working on the surrounding rooms at 7am playing loud music... More

We stayed 17th to 24th March 2015. The hotel is on Modero, a pedestrianised street which at one end has the Zocalo, and at the other Bella Artes. When empty you can walk to the former in 5 minutes & the latter in 2 minutes. However the street is very rarely empty, and at the weekend ......full, is an understatement,... More

Staying in Centro Historico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Historico
The beating heart of the city lies within Centro Histórico, the vast expanse of historical buildings and monuments that are a must when exploring Mexico City. Places such as the Museo Biblioteca Palacio Postal, Casa de los Azulejos and Palacio de Bellas Artes are the perfect eye candy for anyone seeking to admire arts and architecture. Don't forget to visit the wide variety of markets and plazas where any vintage item, handicrafts and jewelry characteristic of each state in Mexico can be found on Sundays. Admire majestic views of the city from the Monumento a la Revolución and Torre Latinoamericana, and round out the experience with restaurants of all cuisines nearby.
