I went to this hotel yesterday, but apparently it is not in service anymore, yet the Name is still on Top of the Building. We called the 1 -800 number but the customer rep didn't bother to tell us this. He gave us another hotel name to contact.

I stayed on the Bamer a lot of times, it has an excellent location and the views from top floors are amazing. The building is very old, but today is in a complete renovation. The price is good, 45 -50 USD by a single room. Very recommended to tourists and groups.

Great location, across street from Rivera mural, near Bella Artes, Beautiful Alemeda Park, short walk to Zocolo, two metro lines.

After 11 vacations in Mexico City I chose the Bamer for its location. It is across the street from the Alameda, Mexico City's Central Park, and adjacent to Bellas Artes, places of culture and history. All within walking distance. Can be noisy due to location on a main avenue. Good size rooms. Mine had jacuzzi and refrigerator, Clean. Polite staff.... More

We had a great time in this hotel. During the 1970s, this hotel was clearly very plush. However, it suffered the effects of an earthquake and now everything wobbles a bit! But if you're young, want to see Mexico City, stay somewhere fairly OK and cheap, then who cares? Rooms are huge, fairly clean, and room staff are very good).... More

Didn't stay here but did look at a couple of the rooms. They were large with very aged, Blue Velvet-esque decor. Intriguing but not exactly welcoming. Though it may well have been clean, the place seemed dusty- perhaps because of the huge (& noisy) demolition project next door (as of 05/03.) Otherwise location was good, across from the Alameda and... More
