Stayed 3 nights and it was very much as expected as our travel agent's information was accurate. Loved: great location on the Zocalo in historic centre of this vast city, gorgeous lobby, liked the rooftop bar for drinks and a light dinner. Initally offered a lovely double room at the front but wanted a twin so were shown a couple... more

Junior suite view of Zocalo was great. Room is very nice. Receptionists needs a little more focus on customers than just having conversation with each other. A perfect location for all sites of Mexico City. more

This hotel is ideally placed for the centre of Mexico City, on one corner of the Zoccolo. When our taxi drew up we were met outside the hotel by Leao Felix, the very friendly and welcoming bell boy, who gave us postcards of the hotel, books about it, kept saying 'Welcome, 'Welcome' and spoke excellent English. We stayed a week,... more

Beautiful historic hotel on the main square near the cathedrals and presidential palace. Magnificent architecture and style. The lobby is breathtaking with the ceiling panels and old elevators. The rooms are very well appointed, large and well laid out. One note, the room key must be inserted into the slot to run the lighting in the room. A wonderful energy... more

Our stay at the hotel capped off our stay in Mexico. The two cities we had visited previously (Queretaro & Cuernavaca) were much, much smaller and slower, so by the time we got to Mexico City, we were REALLY ready to go sightseeing, and this hotel's location really lent itself to what we were seeking. The hotel is right in... more

We liked about this hotel: The lobby - it really is spectacular (but see below) The room - comfortable, clean, and quiet at night The location - if you are into museums and architecture you won't get better We didn't like so much: The service - we had to carry our bags in and out, including up some pretty steep... more

While the grand atrium (from which all rooms lead off) was impressive ("faded grandure") and the room was perfectly clean and comfortable, we were stunned to find out that the hotel was to host a full-on ball with live music in the atrium on our last night AND that it would only BEGIN at 10pm, with the music finishing at... more

Upon check-in, we were asked to read and sign a waiver that stated we had been informed that the hotel frequently rents out the beautiful lobby for parties. We were told that our room was far from the noise; however, this was not true. Our room was on the top floor, but that didn't prevent us from hearing the very... more

This hotel is located away from the main tourist spot in Mexico city which is the Zona Rosa. It is however fabulously located for the Zocalo, the cathedral and for Templo Mayor in the heart of the Historic Centre. The hotel itself is very imposing in a beautiful building. The inside is based around an enormous foyer with a Tiffany... more
