If you want a box, stay somewhere expensive. If you want soul, stay here. Right on the edge of the Zocalo, its location is perfect. Yrs, it was a little noisy the night a big group of students stayed also, but sleeping tablets took care of that. The staff speak good English and are so helpful. Try it, if only... More

The Best Western Majestic isn't a luxurious hotel by any means, but it has old-world charm with its talavera tiles and elevator with a safety gate. The best thing about the place is its location: right on the Zocalo, within a stone's throw of the Palacio Nacional, Metropolitan Cathedral, Templo Mayor, metro stop, Turibus stop, all sorts of restaurants, and... i have to say that this hotel is considered a national historic landmark, and as such, not a lot can be done to remodel or renew the existing setting; that being said, if you want to stay near zocalo and are ok with all of its surroundings, this is your place. I will tell my experience, the windows don't block... More

if I had paid the posted rate I would have rated it lower than I did. My room faced the zocalo, which makes it about a $1,000,000 peso room on that basis alone. But that romantic view comes with a 5:55am price, when the marching band emerges from the door of the national palace on the far side of the... More

Stayed here because this is where my organised tour left from. I had 2 nights on my own before the tour started. Staff are friendly and helpful, location is excellent and you feel like you are in Mexico. However, rooms are noisy and we didn't have hot water one morning - it was fixed promptly though. Very close to major... More

We stayed in this historical hotel in November 2011 for a week. It wasn't my first trip to MC, but it was my friends. The hotel, itself, is a gem of Old Age Elegance. But, one must check out their room, as many are not completely renovated. But, the staff is obliging and will do what they can to accommodate... More

The location is good...its right in the middle of the historic center. But after a day in the historic center you'll come to realize that for the best mexico city feel you'll probably want to get out of that area. Plus that area is completely dead at night, compared to other areas that are very crowded all the time. The... More

The place needs renovation, the wi-fi works better in the inner atrium areas than in the rooms, but for the price it's great. The staff are helpful, professional and kind. Rooms are clean, and things mostly work. The hotel is in the center of a large city, so there is some street noise, but the building was converted into a... More

We stayed here on a much reduced rate, but I must say I couldn't recommend this at it's normal going rate. The building is 400-some years old and while beautiful, you can hear EVERY noise if you have neighbors on either side of you. But they did have REAL and very nice large bathtubs in the rooms...

I had a very negative experience during my recent stay here, and would not stay again. First, when we called ahead to find out if parking was available, we spoke to a woman answering the phone who told us that parking was available at a low price. When we arrived, however, they told us that no parking was available, (and... More
