This is an excellent hotel to spend a few days in the heart of Mexico City! Although it's a little pricey (750 pesos per night vs. 500 on average everywhere else), the service is awesome and the location unbeatable! Just a few blocks away from the Zócalo, the cathedral and the Templo Mayor ruins. HUndreds of restaurants around it and... More

This hotel seems to have undergone a big renovation, as at the time of my stay there was a lift closed and some floors being touched with final details. We arrived to Mexico City on the last week of December and couldn't find any accommodation in the city centre, this place had pending reservations and as the persons didn't show... More

We always stay here at the start and finish of our Mexican holiday. It is convenient, safe and the staff are always very helpful.,the rooms are well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent . We haven't found any problems staying at the weekend as previous reviewer ( perhaps it was the New Year holiday) . Most things we want to... More

I've walked by this hotel numerous times but never thought of staying here until I saw all the great reviews on tripadvisor. I've struggled to find a place I love to stay in Mexico City and prefer an apartment if I'm there for a week or more. But for short visits I've tried everything from cheap to expensive and in... The Hotel Catedral is located just one block from the Zocalo. It is also just a few blocks away from several streets filled with shoppers at this time of year. The rooms are fiine, the bathromm has a lot of shelf space. The staff members were very helpful and Thelma and crew who make and serve breakfast are extremely friendly.... More

It has one of the best locations in Mexico City. All the staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are very clean and comfy, not to mention safe. You can have a safety box in your own room or they have one at the front desk. Going downstairs for breakfast every morning was a pleasure, the food was great... More

I found this place to be a fun place to stay and great location. The bed wasn't as comfortable as I'd like but you get what you pay for. The two guys who worked the desk were helpful when I need directions and needed to sign up for tours. The view from the roof is amazing and have decent price... More

Nice hotel in downtown Mexico City..Quality of the room was perfect, big en comfortable bed. The breakfast buffet was excellent and especially the service in the restaurant by Thelma, Deyanira, Jenifer and Violeta was great. Great food!

I was traveling with friends for pleasure. The location is perfect, one block from the Zocalo, Catedral, Templo Major, and Palacio Nacionale and walking distance to the Belles Artes, National Art Museum, and many more attractions. The pedestrian street which connects the two is filled with entertainers of many kinds. When the four of us arrived, we expected to have... More

This is my fifth visit to Hotel El Catedral this year. Each time, the quality of customer service has declined to the point that now I will never return. I organize small group arts workshops in Mexico City. I will book three or four rooms in advance under my name. The hotel does not have the infrastructure to be able... More
