Spacious rooms, nice staff, clean, good breakfast. Stayed here for one night as a replacement for Historico Central which had problems with some rooms. Can't complain, good value for money and good sleep quality too.

The hotel is close to the main square and a fifteen minute walk to Bellas Artes and any number of galleries and shops. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The recently refurbished rooms have excellent facilities and are very well maintained. Of special note Thelma the breakfast chef whose energy and efficiency made each morning meal a great event... There is much debate about the best location to stay in df. If you decide on Centro Historico this hotel is great choice. Well sized clean rooms, helpful happy staff and close to everything. Try level 6 on the Cathedral side for a great view of the city and the snow capped mountains. The price was very competitive. Taxi stand... More

All the staff was easily available and helpful. We especially appreciated help and advises from Salvatore on Friday 1st of January 2016. The breakfast is perfect, large choice and good quality. Very convenient location, near Zocalo and all shops. Thank you Hotel Catedral for making our trip very safe and enjoyable !

First time in Mexico City. Hotel Catedral is not a luxury hotel BUT has everything that we needed: central location, spotless clean (from the room to the staircase) and incredible service. We stayed for eight nights as a family of four (children age 11 and 16). We asked for a room with a view of the Catedral and we had... More

Once again we stayed at the Hotel Catedral and it was great again. We arrived December 10th, and probably due to the upcoming Virgen de Guadalupe celebration it was packed. We had no reservation but were given a Junior Suite for the price of a regular room. It was fantastic. Highly recommend this hotel.

I first stayed in this hotel in 2004-05 and returned last month (Nov.) for a 10-day stay. It was an incredible experience--excellent service, a sumptuous breakfast buffet, and caring people. Cuauhtémoc and Margarita will make you feel completely at home with their ready smiles and warm hospitality. When I had to see a doctor, Margarita immediately arranged one for me... More

Rooms are fine - clean, comfortable beds. Location is great for centre of the city, Zocalo. We however found ourselves in Uber or on subway to get to Roma and Polanco/Condesa which are more desirable neighbourhoods with great restaurants. Unfortunately started off not great - although we had two rooms reserved, they only had 1 available at 1:30 am when... More

Staying in Centro Historico

Neighborhood Profile
Centro Historico
The beating heart of the city lies within Centro Histórico, the vast expanse of historical buildings and monuments that are a must when exploring Mexico City. Places such as the Museo Biblioteca Palacio Postal, Casa de los Azulejos and Palacio de Bellas Artes are the perfect eye candy for anyone seeking to admire arts and architecture. Don't forget to visit the wide variety of markets and plazas where any vintage item, handicrafts and jewelry characteristic of each state in Mexico can be found on Sundays. Admire majestic views of the city from the Monumento a la Revolución and Torre Latinoamericana, and round out the experience with restaurants of all cuisines nearby.
