Main positives: filtered water available on tap in bathroom; delicious buffet (and cook to make omelettes/quesadillas etc) for breakfast included in room price; beautiful view over Historic centre (if you ask for it); modern, comfortable rooms with air conditioning, safe and balcony; one street back from Cathedral and main square (Zocalo). Other comments: Restaurant average but not bad. Waitresses at... More

Very nice and cozy hotel. Last week was my first time in Mexico and with no Spanish. Stayed for 3 nights in Mexico City. In the Historical zone, that is The Cathedral, the parliament building and all. Had great fun. I thought I was gonna be a fish out of water, but thanks to the staff, I was welcomed right... More

I spent twelve days at Hotel Catedral this spring. The hotel is in an ideal location to walk to many historic sites in the historic part of the city. It is clean, secure, very well organized and fairly priced. I found the staff to be very accommodating. Sarai was particularly helpful with travel plans and always provided cheerful service. The... We have stayed here over many different years if you want to be located near the Zocalo. The rooms are small and clean and quiet. Breakfast is very good. However, price creep has occurred and it is not quite as good value as it once was.

Just spend a long weekend at Hotel Catedral and had a wonderful experience there. Arrived at almost midnight from Dallas and they were out of single rooms (1 queen bed) which we had a reservation for and upgraded us to a double (2 queens) for the same rate. Room was clean and comfortable, WiFi a little weak but our room... More

We stayed in this hotel during the month of March for a total of 7 days. It's location behind the Zocalo is safe and perfect for exploring the historic center and for access to the metro. The hotel and rooms are spacious, clean and affordable. The staff is friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet. The chef, Telma, the... More

Great location, spacious and comfy rooms, well priced. And the complimentary breakfast is not to be missed! The service (especially Sarahi and Sandy) is prompt and friendly, but the cook, Thelma, is the star of the show. We actually contemplated staying over an extra day just for her breakfasts! The only "drawback"? A modicum of Spanish language is a must... More

This modernized hotel is right off of the Zocalo in the central historic district of Mexico City. It is located right behind the National Cathedral, so you may hear noises from the Zocalo at certain times of the day and evening. Also, if you do stay on the cathedral side like we did, you may hear a disco going into... More
