I've stayed at the Maria Cristina multiple times and each time has been a little different. I've had good rooms and not so great rooms. Rooms facing the garden area are nice and fairly light, rooms on the back facing the parking lot are okay but fairly charmless. All are quiet. The rooms are large with good storage and the... more

I stayed in this hotel for five nights, and I loved it. I decided to stay in this hotel because of the reviews that I have read in trip advisor, and I don't regret it at all. Maria Cristina is a beautiful hotel located in a safe and beautiful area of Mexico City. It is just about a block from... more

I have stayed for three days in the hotel. The stuff was wonderful and very helpful. The area is safe and if you like to walk in this half way between the zokolo and the anthropological museum which for me was very convenient. The room was large enough and always clean. The restaurant hotel was decent enough for breakfast and... more

We booked and stayed in two double rooms (6 persons) at the Maria Cristina for the week following Christmas into the New Year. The practical rooms were comfortable and very clean, the staff friendly and helpful from top to bottom and the restaurant an excellent value. The concierge and other services were easy, useful and convenient. The location is safe... more

The hotel entrance is pretty, but other than that is it is a standard mid level hotel. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from the metro and is located in a safe area. Most restaurants in the area are International chains. There are a few good bars in the area. The rooms were good sized, but not very... more

We didn't notice much of the colonial charm mentioned in other reviews, but the Maria Cristina is certainly a very clean and efficient modern hotel in a safe area near the Zona Rosa. Rooms were of the standard European/American travellers would expect, and would be suitable for business as well as leisure travellers. The staff spoke English and were very... more

I stayed at this hotel 10/30 thru 11/2 for the Dias de Los Muertos weekend. I booked the hotel online with Zaira who was very helpful and quick to respond to my requests. The rate for a double room was $90USD/night and the suite was $110USD/night. I chose the suite based upon reviews I read here. The hotel is a... more

I just returned from a short week stay at the Maria Cristina Hotel – my 3rd short visit in about as many years. It remains an excellent mid-level (not expensive) downtown choice. Great location – easy quick walking distance to the Zona Rosa across the Reforma Ave, but quiet and in a safe location. Long walk possible either to the... more

I stayed at this hotel five nights in July and found it surpassed three and even four star hotels in Europe and US. The lobby and restaurant decor is old-fashioned, but that's part of the charm. The internal corridors and stairwells are tiled in Mexican tiles, and the restaurant and lobby open onto a courtyard garden (this is in addition... more
