I have been going 15 years and the staff has not changed, the waiters in the restaurant are the same, the christmas tree in the lobby is the same. It is a great little time machine. And the location is perfect for walking to Chapultapec to see the castle and anthro museum.

Excellent alternative to the big chains, attractively priced and close to Reforma and the Angel. Has a lovely garden and a nice restaurant. Convenient to US Embassy and Mexican stock exchange as well as to public transportation.

I recently stayed here with friends, and I was as pleased with it this time as I have been on several other occasions. Staff was helpful, the location is excellent (and serviced by a rank of several tourist taxis, with good vehicles and pleasant, confident drivers), and the restaurant is adequate and convenient.

I stayed here twice in 2013, for a total of 20 nights. Maria Cristina has an elegant reception and foyer, and a grassy courtyard for relaxing. The staff is helpful, and there normally is an English-speaker on duty (if that is needed). The attached restaurant is quite good, inexpensive, and staffed with good people. The neighborhood is very good--one block... More

The hotel is a cut above where I would normally stay but proved worthwhile in a city that can be quixotic and exhausting. While the zocalo seemed safe by day, being near the new part of the city felt safer and, while many of the other skyscaper hotels in the vicinity are of the charmless, anaemic type, at least Maria... Maria Cristina has seen better days - the rooms are pretty tired, though clean, and could use simple amenities like a clock and coffee maker. Of greater concern is the front desk staff - not particularly friendly or helpful with basic questions about things like bus schedules, directions, etc. The garden is lovely and the bar is a nice place... I have stayed here many times over the years and always pleased. Great location, friendly helpful staff and overall very comfortable. Minor nits. A coffee maker would be great. And the Tubs are high so a bar to hold would make it easier to climb in.

The property is in an excellent location just across Reforma from the Zona Rosa(and its high room rates). It has a beautiful garden and a traditional Mexican atmosphere. I stayed there about 14 years ago. Nothing has changed, which is great insofar as the staff are still friendly and helpful, not so great as the rooms need some updating. However, for... More

Just off Reforma avenue this hotel is in a great location. Tip: if arriving by taxi tell them the Lerma road is right behind the main government building on Reforma as they will never find the hotel by name. Positives: staff friendly and helpful. Safe taxis with published rates right outside. Good restaurants in safe walking at night. Negatives: breakfast... More

We made our reservations with plenty of time but at the end we have to make some changes and it was not a problem with the hotel. Also we ask if they can hold us a piece of our luggage and they were really nice and careful with that. The price was very reasonable and the location was perfect; the people... More
