This felt like being in Madrid 40 yrs ago. This hotel is older, well kept up and very European feeling, in a nice neighborhood. The rooms are nothing fancy but the beds were comfortable and the amenities were good. The restaurant was good and the little bar across the courtyard is a very nice place to have a glass of... This is my favorite hotel in DF. It's charming without being pretentious, clean without being sterile, and perfectly located for exploring. The neighborhood is safe and walkable. Being in close proximity to many embassies, things are quit after sundown so you can get a good night's sleep while still being close to cultural high points such as Museo Nacional de... More

Hotel Maria Cristina is a quaint colonial style hotel with enchanting green areas including a large, grassy courtyard. The rooms are basic but the common areas as gorgeous. Staff very friendly, service a little slow. My room didn't have a/c but it was ok for me in February. In summer I would definitely need a/c but I believe they do... More

We stayed here 4 nights and enjoyed the experience and the price. We had a large suite, which was very well priced for the area, about $100USD per night. Everything very clean. The restaurant was only so-so, but there are many alternatives in the neighborhood. Although we liked the hotel, the room furniture was not particularly comfortable. The garden is... More

Room was comfortable, plain but spotless and had all we needed (huge bed, airco, fridge, plenty of space). Very quiet barring one night when workmen dug up the street outside! Decor of hotel was more interesting than room, with some lovely tiles and wood panelling. Lovely garden. Well served by a taxi stand outside, but we preferred to explore on... More

Hotel keeps some old time charm and is in a good location just a block from Paseo de la Reforma. The street that hotel is on — Rio Lerma — runs parallel to Reforma and has many restaurants and street stands (fresh juice from fruits mixed to your order). A Wi-Fi should really be provided for free though…

This hotel is reasonably priced, and only a block from the Reforma. Great for walking around the city. The rooms are clean and quiet. My only complaint: charging for internet access. NOT O.K. The on-site restaurant is convenient, but one should get out and explore all the different options in the neighborhood.

I have been going 15 years and the staff has not changed, the waiters in the restaurant are the same, the christmas tree in the lobby is the same. It is a great little time machine. And the location is perfect for walking to Chapultapec to see the castle and anthro museum.

Excellent alternative to the big chains, attractively priced and close to Reforma and the Angel. Has a lovely garden and a nice restaurant. Convenient to US Embassy and Mexican stock exchange as well as to public transportation.
