In the trendy Santa Fe district of Mexico City (one of the very few places in Mexico City where you can feel safe 24/7) and occupying the top four floors of one of the tallest buildings of the city, you will find Distrito Capital, a boutique hotel that targets the sophisticated business traveler. While this is not the right hotel to bring children, it is just perfect if you are in town for business or for pleasure with your couple. The design of the hotel is simply beautiful, with luxurious details surprising you at every moment. While I was very happy with the hotel's rooms and friendly service, the food at the restaurant leaves something to be desired. Portions are small and not spectacular... you are much better off dining at one of the 5 restaurants in the first floor of the building. Amongst those El Japones and Le Bouchon (Japanese and French respectively) will certainly satisfy your taste buds even if you are a demanding conossieur. In short, Distrito Capital is highly... more

This brand new ultra-trendy hotel is breathtaking from start to finish with DESIGN being the keyword and has taken over the top floors of a tall building so all the rooms have a spectacular view over Mexico City. It is virtually next door to the Santa Fe shopping mall, 20 minutes from Polanco and most of the museums, and about 20 minutes from the city of Toluca. I have no words to describe either the room (very comfortable bed and pillows) or the view from it as both were somewhere far beyond spectacular and the bathroom breathtaking although a bit dark and we found escaping water from curtainless shower a bit annoying. The closet was designed by a man and there was nowhere long enough to hang a dress unless a micro-mini ! There is an expresso machine in the corridor which after initial excitement we could never use as there were never any capsules by it.
Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious and we saw that at night both the bar and restaurant were hopping...
