After much research and deliberating pros and cons of staying at other hotels instead of the Villa Maria Cristina we decided to set aside the negative reviews and use the positive ones to back up our decision to book at this hotel. Several of the reviews we read of hotels near the "centro historico" mentioned that nights were noisy due... More

Arrived for three nights at what we thought was to be a lovely Relais Chateau Hotel only to find it was under massive construction. The hotel should be closed until it has finished with their expansion. The workmen start at 7am-6pm and they are banging and plaster dust is everywhere. The facility is very nice but it is completely compromised... More

A fancy pretentious place with dark rooms, creeky floors, wi-fi that only worked sporadically and shocking, shocking service. Very far from the large, interesting historic parts of Guanajuto (the hotel & its location spoilt the experience of a wonderful city). To cap it all we were, on holiday, woken before 7am by continuous renovation banging on our room's walls that... More

If ever you visit Guanajuato, it's worth staying there. Nice location, very nice rooms, terrific service, very good food! Accomodations are modern and with deluxe finishes. Service is AAA. Food can be tailored to your needs. Very creative chef.

We stayed only one night from Saturday to Sunday. Although we went to visit Guanajuato for the first time we wanted to stay inside the hotel. Don't forget your swimsuit so you can use the relaxing pool and enjoy the spa. Service was the best I have received in a long time, details everywhere. Fresh fruit in the room, valet... More

Excellent hotel with very comfortable rooms. The rooms are large with plenty of space to work. The internet access worked well. Plenty of power outlets. Bathroom was excellent with steam shower. The food was excellent although the service a little slow at breakfast. This is not the typical business hotel so that is to be expected. I would highly recommend... More

Oddly enough, Villa Maria Cristina reminded me of the floating palaces of Udaipur, India, for it's gorgeous pink tile work, dark teak wood furnishings, and open air palatial feel. Our room was small, but cozy, dark and luxurious, quiet. Best sleep ever. Breakfast was formal and full service. Lovely. Someone mentioned that VMC is not central, but in fact, it... More

First, for those going to Guanajuato, this hotel is a 5-7 minute ($5 to $7) cab ride or solid 25 minute walk to/from the centro. It's located in the cleaner, nicer La Presa neighborhood. But, that's all ok and actually a plus. Guanajuato is magical city but it can crowded, congested and dirty in parts. This classic luxury hotel is... More

We stayed here after a long weekend in Leon. It was so nice and the staff was excellent I wish we didn't have to leave!!! It has amazing views of the scenery. It is a little ways maybe 5 minutes by cab to the city. AAAA+++++

Just completed another stay at this amazing property and can say that every aspect of my visit was outstanding. Kudos to Nelson and his team for doing such a great job and taking care of every detail. Lunches were a highlight, with the tapas dishes being particularly yummy (try the shrimp tacos, they are devine) as well as the flambé... More
