This was my second time in Guanajuato and I stayed three nights at La Casa de Dante. The room and the bathroom were immaculate with a gorgeous view of the city ( the Casa is locate on a hill). The best of it all was the hostess - warming, friendly and knowledgeable, and her breakfasts! I really felt like at... More

I came to the Casa de Dante after spending a night in another hostel, also rated well on TripAdvisor, that was not clean and had bugs. The room at Casa de Dante was simple but clean. The people at Casa de Dante are friendly. The balconies have great views of the city. There was always drinking water available. Despite what... More

La Casa de Dante is a superb place to stay while in Guanajuato, especially if you prefer a more quiet location and you love walking. Service is warm and welcoming, with every need catered for. The roof terrace has astounding views, which made it a great place to watch the New Year's Eve fireworks. Irene and her fellow cooks make... More

We stayed here for 4 nights, and this was the perfect place to explore from. As others noted, it is quite a climb, so we planned our days accordingly so as to only climb up once at the end of the day! And it is about a 20 minute walk from town. But it was definitely worth the workout. The... More

When traveling, people usually want to experience a magical momentum; to feel different from being back home. Although Guanajuato, Gto its, by itself, a magical place -even more magical during the Cervantino International Festival- staying at a place like Casa de Dante made my trip not even magical, but unforgettable. Was is the warm welcoming the keepers gave us every... More

This family run hostel is very clean, has well-kept rooms and terrific views over Guanajuato from the balconies and roof. Large, Mexican-style breakfasts with fresh fruit are served every morning and are included in the very reasonable room rent. The only disadvantage for some is that this hostel is not located on a road, and only accessed by a very... More

The woman, Irene, the mother of the hostel's owner, is the heart of the hostel. We've been all over the world and this place is hands down the best, cleanest, and owner of the best in house cook we have ever experienced. If you speak spanish, the experience is all around better. Irene treats you as if you are family.... More
