We spent a weekend in this hostel and it was just amazing. The owners are super friendly and Dante's mum prepares an excellect breakfast every morning. We had booked four beds in a dormitory but we got our own room with a private bathroom. It was very clean and spacious.

I stayed at Casa de Dante for the second time in February 2014 (both time with a friend) and did not regret re-booking. As soon as you arrive, you feel like you are being welcomed into a family home. Rogelio the son was manning the check-in desk and his mum gave us a friendly 'buenas noches' as she passed through... More

ok for starters i didn't totally read the hostel's description, meaning that i didn't pay attention to the fact it was roughly 165 step to the hostel, whew!but when it got there it was totally worth it.the roof top terrace was just one of this places redeeming qualities.such a panoramic view.then there was the staff.always attentive to make your stay memorable.and finally... This is a great choice for a hostel in Guanajuato: an elegant, kind family, with wonderful breakfasts who will keep you fascinated with discussion about Mexican life and politics. The building in a well maintained, with a great view over the city. It's a steep walk down into town, and about 15 minutes by foot to the centre. My only... More

La Casa de Dante is an excellent and economical place to stay. At every turn there is beautiful Mexican Folk Art. And the place is very clean from top to bottom. This guesthouse is a family run place and warm and inviting! The daily breakfast is more than a breakfast but more of a gourmet meal! The cooking is done... More

I spent two nights in la Casa de Dante, and I had a very good experience. It is a quiet, friendly and clean hostel. The breakfast is AWESOME. La Senora Irene and Diana are experts of Mexican food, and you will eat a different sophisticated dish almost everyday. No limits of repetitions, you will be surprises by their friendly spirit.

Every now and then you stay at a hostel that just feels so welcoming, this is one of them! The property is actually well located (it's really only a 10-15 pleasant walk into central town) and the area is completely safe so that walking home late at night isn't an issue. The free breakfast is great and freshly cooked with... More

Had a lovely time staying in a private room in this hostel, mainly because the owners were so friendly and welcoming. (E.g. When I arrived Dante started out by offering me fruit and a cold drink before I even paid for my room) Breakfast each morning was something tasty and nutritious served in a really friendly, cheerful atmosphere. The building... More

We stayed here for one night on our recent travels. We were greeted by the owner (Dante) who was helpful & got us into our room nicely - because they had availability, he even let us choose which room we wanted which was a nice touch! Dante was helpful with maps/local tips & set us on our way. He also... More
