I stayed here with my husband, two toddlers and parents in August 2015 and it was perfect! The hospitality is like none I've ever received elsewhere. Firstly, the room was spacious and homely with a balcony with a decent view of the city. The decor was colourful and cute. The hair dryer and hair straightener in our room was a... More

I am so glad I stayed at this place. Dante's mother is so generous and friendly that I felt like a home at the hostal. Every morning breakfast for 3 days was the best thing I experienced in Guanajuato. The spicy shrimp stew to get rid of hang over is one of the best meals I had in Mexico. When... More

I had a wonderful stay at Casa de Dante. I booked a single room with a private bathroom and a balcony (Room 7). Like the rest of the place, it was clean and beautifully decorated. Although I had a single room I got to meet other travelers staying in the hostal as well, so I had a nice time exploring... More

Very nicely decorated hostel, and yeah its atop some 100 steps. If you have luggage follow the direction and come from the top not the bottom. And yes you hear dogs barking at night, it was fine with us though. Breakfast is awesome, they hold your luggage for you after check out. They are very prompt and take the business... More

I stayed here in February and had a great stay. Be prepared to walk up or down the many stairs (as there is no direct access), but so worth the walk! Great views of the city from a lovely balcony, great facilities, amazing breakfast and lovely staff. A 15 min walk to the centre of the city- down the stairs... More

We spent 3 fantastic days at this beautiful, family-owned hostel. The roof-top terrace with its own lounge and barbecue overlooks the whole city of Guanajuato and the hostel is full of pretty little details. It is run by a family, the sons work at the reception (very good English!), the mother serves you delicious local breakfast and the daughter helps... More

This is by far the nicest hostal I've ever stayed at. In fact it is nicer than a Iot of hotels I have been to! The price is a bargain when you factor in the restaurant-quality breakfast (I was always offered seconds and thirds), the onsite DIY laundry, and I can't forget to mention the spectacular views from the dorms... I stayed in the dorm recently and it was truly one of the best dorm set ups I've ever experienced. The dorm is huge and my bed (number 8) was semi private, with windows on two sides, a dresser with mirror, two personal lights, outlet next to the bed for charing things, and there were no less than 2 full... Absolutely loved my stay here. The view is the best, the staff are amazing and the breakfast is absolutely delicious amd plentiful to help with walking the guanujuato hills. The steps up to the hostel are not too bad (I had about 15kilos of backpack and am not very fit) and its so worth it and there are places you... More

Hostal Casa de Dante has to be one of the best hostels I've every stayed at! The staff are so welcoming and friendly. We didn't just feel like guests but more like one of the family. Although there are a lot of steps to walk up to the hostel, the views at the top and the stay are definitely worth... More
