Just stayed here for 3 nights and my brother and I absolutely loved this hotel. First it is most unusual in the way it is built and both the architecture and color were amazing. Everything about the hotel was charming. Good size rooms with excellent beds and beautiful decor. More

I stayed one night at El Meson and enjoyed my stay. Rooms are well decorated and nice, but lacks a strong finish touch. Sheets, pillows, towels etc are quite basic. Lacks confort. The house in general and the central courtyard is precious, very nice to have breakfast there. More

Meson de los Poetas is a bit of a mixed bag. It is an interesting old building, in a good location -- central, but not so central that it is too noisy. The rooms are nothing special, and a bit odd. We had a kitchen, but no utensils, pots or pans. So, it was unusable wasted space. Service was a... More

I had better memories of this place for the same price. But next door is better. It will be enough for a few days to explore the great downtown but it can become magical if you invest some time looking for the best room. Forget hi-season. It is a mess the whole town. Enjoy More

This hotel was just what we were looking for - charming, clean, friendly, and within walking distance of most everything we wanted to see and do. It is within 2 minutes of three wonderful museums, a easy 5 minute walk to the main plaza and the cathedral and some of the best restaurants that we've experienced in small Mexican cities.... More

I stayed at this hotel for a wedding. The service was excellent and I was pretty impressed with the rooms. Each one of them is different from the others. The design is beautiful, and since it is not a big hotel, the staff really takes care of you. More

I loved this hotel! The location is superb...Diego Rivera museum just down the street, close to the center, sweet coffee shop nearby. Both of the rooms we stayed in had kitchenettes (we didn't use them since we were only there for 2 nights). The decor is typical colonial. No street noise. Breakfast included was a plus...eggs, fruit, cereals, some typical... More

Every room is dedicated to a famous poet and tries to capture his or her essence. The hotel cascades down a mountain side and each room us unique. Great breakfast buffet in a charming restaurant area. A short downhill walk to the central square. We will never stay anywhere else when visiting Guanajuato and we will be back. More

This was the most wonderful hotel we stayed in during our trip to Mexico. A gorgeous, character-filled hotel with a splash of luxury. High quality linen and furniture, flat screen TV, boutique soaps/shampoos, free wifi and good quality breakfast included. Room also has a fridge and coffee maker. The hotel design is stunning and very unique, with a high level... More

My boyfriend and I spent last weekend in Guanajuato and we stayed at El Meson de Los Poetas and loved it. The hotel itself is incredibly quirky in its design and architecture which for me was part of its charm. Looking from the front of the hotel you would have no idea how deep and high this hotel actually is,... More
