Hotel Real Guanajuato is supposedly a 4 star hotel, but I stayed here and at Hotel Socavon (3 stars) for comparison's sake, and I thought Hotel Socavon was WAY better. (Yes, I know. I'm becoming a Trip Advisor Junkie.) Basically, Hotel Real Guanajuato is way overpriced and much exaggerated in its opinion of itself. Here are my thoughts: Pros: -... More

Memorable hotel in Downtown Guanajuato! On a visit back in 2010 I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel. The location is excellent ... right near the downtown attractions of GJO. It is rustic inside which fits in with the vibe in GJO ... nice rooms (spacious) and our room was elevated above the street so it blanketed the... More

We have stayed in this hotel before and find it quite clean and comfortable. There are a lot of stairs but considering the location it's not too much of a problem. The hotel is old and rustic with a maze of rooms. Try to get one with a window overlooking the street. The views from a street balcony or the... More

We made reservations 5 months in advance based on internet pictures of a room for 3 adults. We also confirmed. When we arrived, we were told that due to plumbing problems it would not be available until the next night. Instead we were given a miserable little room with no closet, decorations, or chairs. We requested a discount, but that... More

This hotel was a great base for us to explore Guanajuato. It is across the street from the Diego Rivera house and close to the main square and dozens of restaurants and bars. It's a beautiful hotel with a lovely feel to it. We had rooms 9 and 10 for our group of 5 with enough space for luggage. The... More

Location is good. Breakfast voucher for small restaurant across street. 1/2 block from the Diego Rivera museum. 3 blocks to Union Square. A very basic hotel: room was clean, but no cups, Kleenex, etc. It was about $70. The hotel needs some TLC and could be more like some of the small hotels nearby. Close to the market, and restaurants.

This hotel is very well located and the staff is very nice. The room are pretty nice too, but there are no facilities such as restaurant, kitchen... The only complain we like to make is that when people come in the middle of the night, nobody at the front desk tell them to be quiet, therefore they was a lot... More

Great place, wonderful location, there is a coffee shop next door and a great little breakfast place across the street. The hotel is very clean, traditional and comfortable. There are a lot of stairs and no elevator, but is totally worth it. The view from our large room (room 10) was perfect and sitting in the terrace was nice. Don't... More

We arrived in Guanajuato on March 29th with no hotel booking. My daughter left me on a park bench and set off to find a hotel....we were lucky to get one, as it was Good Friday on a holiday long weekend. She found us a room on the top floor of Hotel Real Guanajuato. The walk to our floor took... More

Stayed here with a group of friends while visiting Guanajuato in October 2012. Upon arrival, we were shocked at how many people there were in the village. We hadn't realised there was the annual festival during that weekend. It took a while to check in - we had booked three rooms. the rooms were small but all we needed for... More
