Staff very helpful and quick responses on email in answering questions, setting up reservations and if you want transport from the airport. Hostel On the corner with the traffic and across a basketball court where evening games take place, so can have some noise issues. A bit on the edge of the center, about a 15 minute walk. Last 2... This really should be call a hotel and not a hostal, the rooms are big, clean, beautifully decorated. It was nice to have a kitchen and the terrace which offers a fantastic view. The service was excellent as well. I highly recommend this place. It is a short walk to downtown and in a nice and safe neighbourhood. The girls... More

Based on the great reviews I booked the king suite ($66.60/night). I was full of hope and promise with visions of the advertised fireplace crackling in the background while I smootched my husband. Well, it wasn't really a fireplace—it was a brick facade with a hole that had an electric heater. The bathroom isn't really part of the room; it's... More

We spent 2 weeks in the colonial cities recently, and Guanajuato was our first stop. Al Son is a small, pretty, well looked after place to stay. Excellent location on the edge of the historic centre. We like to walk everywhere, and the town centre is about 10 minutes away. In the other direction is a quiet residential neighbourhood of... More

This is a very nice hostel in Guanajuato. You will feel the Mexican personality everywhere. The bedrooms are good and comfortable. The bath with hot water is good also. It's not situated in the historic center but just a few blocks from the beginning of it. The ratio cost benefit is very good.

We stayed at this hostel for two nights. Nice staffs, clean, good location. It's about 5min walk to city center. Though it was only two days to stay there but we really enjoyed the colorful city. Thank you very much for nice stay!

The hostel is just amazing. The staff is kind, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is clean and the shower is hot. We just had one problem with the location: it was raining the first night and we got soaked on the way to the center. It's not far away, but it was a long way when under the rain.... More

Gabriel treats you as family in this very friendly and nice hostel. The breakfast qualifies this hostel as a bed and breakfast. Great location and everyone goes out of their way to help you with anything you need. I came solo and in two days I left with many friends. Great location, great people, and a great time. Thanks Gabriel!... More

My daughter and I found our stay in this hostel to be just what we hoped: friendly and accommodating staff, beautiful room and adjoining patio, incredible chiliquiles and perfectly sliced fruit by Chef Gabriel and endless advice/help/fun conversations with Claudia, Alexandra and Gabriel. We walked to all points of interest and were picked up at the hostel by the tour... More
