My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Balcon del Cielo our first time ever in Mexico and really enjoyed our experience. It is located right next to one of Guanajuato's main landmarks--the Pipila monument--and is on a hillside that overlooks the entire city. As a result, to get to the city center you have to take a cable car or... More

Cannot beat the view. Price was right, room was slightly above average. Front desk helpful. Close to foot path but no big deal. Proximity to vernicular (basically an elevator up the hillside) very cool - and you get a free pass with your room. We stayed one night before departing from nearby Leon Airport after a visit to San Miguel... More

Nice Location, free funicular, rooms spacious and with stunning views. Annoying thing is that there is just a thin wall between the rooms and the corridor (at least in our room - no. 3), which makes you listen to all the noise outside. We knew the checkout time of all the guests on our floor, which apparently had a flight... More

The hotel was very clean. The room was spacious, I highly recommend the room with city view, it was simply gorgeous! The only thing I didn't like about the room was the sliding door that separates the room from the bathroom, it does not give you too much privacy. Other than that the room was fine. If you decided to... More

Guanajuato is a beautiful, lively city, so being able to sit on a private terrace overlooking the action makes it an even better experience. Modern decor with convenient access to the center by funicular behind the theater, excellent restaurants and an active plaza. A short walk out of the hotel to the Pipila statue or a pleasant walk down the... More

This is definitely the best view of Guanajuato you'll get from a hotel room, perfect for a romantic getaway in a city that looks as if it was taken out of a book. The location could not be better, as the funicular is free for hotel guests and it will take you downtown to Teatro Juarez in a minute and... More

The staff was very helpful. I was going to a wedding with my husband and he needed his pants ironed - we asked the front desk and they offered to iron it for free. We also needed a taxi at 4am the last day we were there and they also set it up for us without a problem. They give... More

Our first time in this beautiful city only to be further enhanced by staying at this hotel. We enjoyed our balcony and the endless view day or night. The rooms are very clean and the beds+pillows are comfortable. The bathroom had full amenities including a hair dryer. However, be prepared to walk a bit up and down the stairs on... More

We booked our room based upon the view and what appeared to be a relativelty newly constructed hotel. Instead of choosing the basic room with a balcony, we chose one of the two "terrace rooms" and certainly had no regrets about that choice. Initially, we were confused by the arrangement in the pay parking lot located above the hotel but... More

The hotel was amazing, the view was incredible, the funicular takes you up to the hotel and you can't get tired of the view while you're being taken up. It included free breakfast at Casa Valadez, it was the best free breakfast I have ever had. The staff was very helpful. They kept our luggage safe after check out, they... More
