Guadalajara is my second home. I live in Colorado about 3 months out of the year. This summer I invited several friends to visit me and more decided to RSVP than expected. I came across several rentals in this large city, but some of the ones that were very affordable were way out of the way. For the number of... More

Excelent place to stay, very comfortable, the rooms are also very nice. The people there is very nice and very heedful. Everything in there it's to make you feel like home. Is placed in one of the nicest, safe and centric places in Guadalajara. It has a couple of parks one block away very nice to hang out.

Jim was extremely helpful throghout the booking, stay and departure process. We stayed in touch via e-mail and everything went according to plan. The house exactly as described, in an up and coming area of Guadalajara, super easy access to everything and very safe. Had a couple minor plumbing issues which were addressed immediately by Jim. Definitely recommended for stays... More

This was our first time at the Dickinson Guest House. My family and I were on a trip to different cities in Mexico and were coming from some time on the beach. Even though our bus came in very late. Leo and James were there to greet us and take us to our rooms. James had some sandwiches out on... More

I was here on business this visit. My visit a year or so ago was for the Mariachi Festival with my family. We had such a great time that I came back and chose to stay here instead of so many new hotels in this area. James has great business amenities that make it easier to have fast internet that... More

I stayed in many 5 star hotels all over the world. I picked this guest house because I needed to get my passport at the Canadian visa center which is two blocks away. James prepared me a super delicious home made breakfast (the way I like) on my early arrival. He even took my dog for a walk while I... More

We are not much for the "party scene" on NYE, but since we were on holiday this year we indulged in some local festivities! We traveled with another couple to Guadalajara,Mexico to spend a bit of time with their relatives. We found a house that looked like it was perfect for our needs at a reasonable price. The Dickinson Guest... More

James is a very pleasant owner and we enjoyed his help with our exploring. Room was very nice and clean. My only complaint is that the main area of the house needs to be cleaned, not quite up to expectations for a 5 star BB. Also quite a distance from Centro and airport.

Hello G.G. Thank you for taking the time to write a kind review. A lot of people who enjoy their stay often just get busy and forget. I am a bit embarrassed that I cannot find you as a guest last February, by any name or location on Trip Advisor. I am guessing that you may have been in a... More

I just received a letter for trip Advisor for a past trip I took to Guadalajara, with my Mexican husband. I have family in Guadalajara that do not have a very large home. The owner james and his friends and staff made for an excellent experience! We arrived from all over Mexico to be with our parents who live in... More

Thank you M. for the kind words. I am discovering that larger groups of travelers tend to enjoy the full house stay with or without maid service. I respect your wishes for privacy and am happy you chose to have a little help. I very much appreciate keeping everything tidy. It seems the bed configuration worked well for you. Maybe... More

I took my family to the Mariachi festival in Guadalajara, Mexico this year. It has been a few years since I had gone by myself or with friends. I do have family in this city, but there was not enough room for the 5 of us. I found this house to be perfect for our needs. My wife and I... More

We thank you for your review and are happy that you enjoyed your stay. Your kids are great with the different dogs that are in our two parks, and I think they enjoyed the diversion from the exciting, yet busy central core. It was a good festival this year even with the rain that we had. It's finally over and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Dickinson Guest House B&B is very conveniently located centrally to the city itself- in the cities new business hub, yet just a few minute away from the 24 hour traffic that can be often annoying at night. The many attractions of the historical district are still minutes away by taxi or public transit that runs 24/7 just a few blocks from the property. There are so many historical sites throughout this large metropolis that most travelers never take the time to see outside of the museums and cathedral downtown. Guadalajara does have a Basilica for those that enjoy even older more important architectural gems-if they know about them! The B&B (or whole house rental) is located in Colonia Chapalita- a very well maintained and calm neighborhood, surrounded with several beautiful public parks, allowing for a great rest at night, ready for the next days adventure! We also have a shortcut to the very enjoyable towns of Tlaquepaque and Tonala, home of many arts and crafts centers that everyone must see!We take pride in our business services for the traveler that needs fast wi-fi and free phone service- all inclusive in the price of their room. This even includes a printer, thus allowing complete privacy if desired, while finishing up some work before going out for dinner to the abundance of restaurants that surround this neighborhood. We offer a free breakfast of your choosing-on your time schedule, unlike long hotel buffet lines that offer breakfast of their choosing at hours that might not be the perfect time for you. Here, we want our guests to feel at home. They can eat when they want to, 24/7! Come and feel the difference of the personal touches and amenities offered, while enjoying your privacy that is very much respected. There are many rooms and areas to get to know other guests if that is preferred. Many friendships have been made here, by travelers from all over the world! ... more   less
