Stayed at this hotel last week while in Guadalajara. I enjoyed it but seemed to be especially tailored for business travelers. I especially loved the buffet breakfast. Excellent! Best I've seen in a long time from a hotel. The one thing that disappointed me was the room service. It was terrible.. not edible. The chicken enchiladas were hard, literally. I... More

As a non Spanish speaking citizen of the USA I am always appreciative of a hotel that makes you feel comfortable-without have to try. This is a safe and beautiful hotel in a wonderful part of GDL. And, if you get lost, (When you get lost) you can see the hotel from just about anywhere.

The front desk employees were rude and even patronizing. I was amazed at how we were treated, considering the fact that this hotel is "supposed" to be one of the best in the city. The service we received is definitely not worth the price. The room was ok not what we expected. The breakfast buffet is very expensive considering there... More

Stayed here weeks of July 14th and 21st. The hotel is a tall high-rise that is a great landmark to help get around GDL. In summary: Pros: Gym Pool Nightly entertainment in lobby lounge Spacious bathroom Breakfast buffet Other bars/restaurants close by Cons: Can be busy!

once you get past the psychedelic lobby and the interesting room decor, at its core, it's a fine hotel with good service, a solid breakfast buffet and centrally located. The beds are comfortable and it's the first time I have ever seen that anything you find in your room fridge is complimentary. As a grown habit (I guess from being... More

The hotel is situated close to most the industrial areas of the city and 15 - 20 mins from the airport. The area around the hotel is not the most charming, but there are some reasonable restaurants within walking distance (e.g., Mexican and Argentine steak house options are very close). The breakfast as mentioned by others is extensive and good... More

This hotel is very nicely appointed, spacious rooms and great restaurants. The daily morning buffet was HUGE with excellent choices of foods. The restaurant on the main floor was outstanding! Great staff, not terribly English speaking friendly, but I made do.

Not often you can find a business hotel with the comfort of a Grand Tourism Hotel. the Hotel Riu of Guadalajara City, in my perspective, in more of 15 years traveling to that City, has been consolidated as the best option, and also now is my favorite. The comfort of its hundreds of rooms distributed in the more of 40... More

The Good: my Spanish is just ok so it was very comforting that almost all the employees spoke English. I stayed in 3910, nice big room, floor to ceiling windows that gives you a great view of the city and sunset over the mountains. The bar prices were reasonable, it is within walking distance to many restaurants. They arranged a... More

Hotel Riu Plaza has the distinction of being the tallest building in central Guadalajara. It is a tall monument to how the area has changed and grown over the past 10 years. The hotel staff - of which there were plenty available - made for an easy check-in and were happy to explain all of the hotel's facilities, restaurants and... More
