I stayed at Casa Alebrijes for 35 days and didn't want to leave. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful and has a relaxed vibe to it. The location is excellent and is an easy walk to many attractions. John, the owner, provided great information on local restaurants and services which I found very useful. I highly recommend this hotel... More

You would never know from the street just how lovely this little hotel is until you go through the door. There's a reason there are so many positive comments about the hotel and John - I found them to all be true. You feel more like the guest of someone who is glad to have you over instead of some... Casa Alebrijes was the perfect choice. The place is gorgeous, open-air, quaint and comfortable, and its location can't be beat. We walked almost everywhere in the city and felt safe at night, getting to the nightlife. I would highly suggest any LGBTQ folks who wanted an adventure in Guadalajara stay at this place.

We stayed for two nights in Casa Alebrijes. It is a beautiful hotel. The photos on the site don't do it justice. The location is great. Very close to all the bars but still quiet. John the owner is very helpful. All this for an amazing price. We'll definitely stay here again.

It was our first visit to Guadalajara during Christmas Week 2014. Upon our arrival, our host John provided us with maps and tips to navigate Guadalajara that we found useful during our stay. The hotel is a beautifully restored former mansion located near the Centro Historico district. The property is walking distance to many sights, amenities, shopping and restaurants. We... More

Casa Alebrijes is a fabulous hotel in a fabulous city. I have stayed there twice and I will certainly return. In addition to being beautiful and comfortable and friendly, it's right in the middle of everything -- sites, restaurants, nightlife, and daylife -- and the host, John, is an absolute gem. If you are going to Guadalajara, which I highlyy... More

Beautiful old Hotel (once you get inside). Very knowledgeable host. Close to all main attractions. Rooms were lovely, with great decoration and furnishings. Room had a safe and internet. But no room fridge. Breakfast very simple. Could add a waffle maker, or pastries. The area looks dicey, but I never had any trouble.

This is a gem hotel in the middle of Guadalajara. It is located in the middle of the gay life of this city; a step away from restaurants, bars, and even a stand called Gay Taco! The hotel is a refuge of comfort in this large city. It is extremely clean, well-appointed, and has a caring staff. The owner is... More

This was our first visit to Guadalajara, and our second time in a Gay owned\oriented hotel. We simply couldn't have asked for more! We travel all over the world and have stayed in many different category hotels, this small hotel can easily be rated as a 4.5 star. Everything is super clean and well decorated. We felt very welcomed by... More

I don't usually bother with reviews, I travel too much to bother. But in this case I really need to make an exception. I have to admit as we drove up to the address of Casa Alebrijes Hotel I thought, "Oh no, I should have made the reservations myself instead of letting my friend do it." The reason for this... More

I am glad that you were impressed with Casa Alebrijes. I agree that the facade is nothing special although since your visit it has been repaired and painted. In Mexico one never knows what is behind the facade. In my case I am proud that most guests are surprised and pleased with the interior. More
