We ended up at the De Mendoza for 3 nights after a bad experience with a booking at Hotel Morales. All the staff were very friendly and accommodating, from the front desk staff to the cleaning staff. "Erfain" (sp?) the porter/doorman was extremely helpful with information, directions, taxis, tours and restaurant recommendations/reservations. Our room was spacious, clean and modern (which... More

We have stayed here every year form the past 4 on our way to Guanajuato. It used to be a good value for the price, but it has dropped off. No longer quiet, I have music blasting into my room and it's 11:30pm. At 1,000 pesos the price is to high for what you get. Dinner was the worst I... More

can't beat the location. About a block from the main square. It's a little expesive for what you get. Location is 4 star, the rooms are average. Breakfast is also a little pricey---walk around the square and you'll find a better deal on breakfast.

This is a very fine old place in the heart of the old city. In this case, old is a compliment. The property is clean and well maintained, but not redone or restored like so many modern remodels. It is typical of business hotels in Mexico to have a very small but in suite bathroom with a simple shower. I've... More

As light sleepers we prioritize quiet, which is hard to find in urban Mexico at any price, especially in city centers. Despite some minor blemishes the De Mendoza was perfect for us -- a fantastic central location and a good night's sleep with virtually no guest noise or street noise. We found the staff a little mixed -- some were... More

The rooms and the property in general is very basic and a bit out-dated, but the rooms were kept clean. For <$100/night it was a great value. We had a nice balcony to enjoy in the evenings...with tequila of course. I stayed for 5 days for a friends weekend. The hotel is mostly business people coming and going, so we... More

This is a great hotel for the value, the location is worth every penny...or should I say Peso. The hotel is in the process of a remodel and some of the rooms are older but very clean. I had a group of 14 people and there we no complaints about the rooms from anyone. I did notice that the beds... More

This hotel may be more rustic than chic but it was definitely a great location for experiencing the city centre of Guadalajara. The pool isn't much, the gym was pretty basic, the rooftop pretty standard but there was something charming about this old colonial hotel in an amazingly beautiful old city. Word of warning, avoid taking pictures of the official... More

What a wonderful experience to stay at this hotel in the historic part of Guadalajara! The hotel and rooms are spotless, the small pool is an oasis on a hot afternoon and perfect for cooling off. The staff are friendly, helpful and eager to share information about the city. The location is perfect; on a quiet street away from traffic... More

From 2005 to now, my wife and I have stayed at the Mendoza 5 or 6 times. The rooms are of medium size, well-furnished, and comfortable. The hotel is a little worn--carpets etc and it could use a major reno, but everything is clean and tidy. U/G secure parking is free, and there is secure storage for large shopping treasures... More
