Despite a less than comfortable bed, old towels and sheets (but clean) this hotel is lovely. For the price it's great. It's just short on a few of the creature comforts but is very nice and supremely located.

I am writing this review a month later, because we were very upset when we checked out of this hotel. Now that I have cooled down, I just want to mention a few things about our stay. This hotel was not for us. I even woke up the morning before our stay and had a feeling that we should not... More

My adult daughter and I stayed there for a week. Our room was on the third floor near an open plaza so well away from the nightly music so it was a pleasant background melody. It was very clean and very comfortable with convenient storage. Bathroom was interesting but we were small so we fit. Staff was not fluent in... More

Have stayed here several times. This is the first time with children. The only challenge of course was the elevator. There were times the elevator was not working and it was a bit of a burden to have to walk the stairs for the kids after a full day of walking around town. The room itself was great. The customer... Unfortunately, this hotel was depressing. I had upgraded to the suite so I was expecting something a bit nicer. The sheets were yucky dirty. We actually covered our pillows with our shirts because I couldn't imagine putting my face on it. The bathroom smelled of mold and the towels looked brown. The AC didn't work and the windows wouldn't even... More

We really wanted to love this hotel, but our initial impression wasn't good. Very elegant lobby and atrium, but seemed spartan: no plants or anything to soften the stone and tile. And the lobby bar was closed (later learned that was because it was a federal holiday). Our room was spotless, but with old towels, sheets and lumpy pillows. The... More

I decided to visit this hotel because of its "bohemian" looks, but then I realized that being an incurable past-times romantic is the only reason why you should pay more than due in this old central hotel. Yes, the structure is nice, but it is not a museum, it is a hotel, so you expect service a quality for the... More

We stayed two nights in Hotel Frances. Wonderful place. It is across from historic capitol building which is also museum quality. Sure Hotel Frances rooms are small and our bathroom was small, but we picked the small room. What do you expect for a hotel in building that is over 400 years old? We ate in the restaurant twice--great food.... More

This hotel stay was so bad that we moved the next day. The hotel is in a great location but the positive comments end there. The room was dirty; the bedspread was disgusting and the floor was dirty. The toilet was so close to the shower that in order to use it sitting down one had to sit at an... More

It's a nice building, very old and stuff, but the rooms are just ok, they lack remodeled. The rest, I mean, historical building are all around so, it's easy to get to know historical downtown. They have also a nice elevator and a cool chandelier :)
