Nice very old hotel. Music playing, attentive personnel, flexible if you need to get checked in earlier. Our room did not have windows and we did not know was it dark or not outside, it was a little weird, but the room was very nice, with the jacuzzi, in two levels. It was a junior suite. And price difference between... More

I must say, the first night as little rough due to disco down the street, but overall it was fun. The hotel personnel are the best, they catered to our every request, especially Andre. The rooms of course are old but that is the charm. want chrome and glass, Holiday Inn two blocks. The restaurant is good, but the service... More

Built in 1610 it has the history of the past going on all around you. The location could not be better. The restaurant is good if you like traditional mexican food. Rooms are old some have been up dated with flat screen tvs. We had a jacuzzi tub in 105 for $50 a nite. The balcony is barely big enough... More

When I read the hotel opened in 1610 I thought that had to be a mistake or it was really run down. Wrong on both accounts! While it's clearly seen it's years, it has been lovingly maintained (the elevator might run slow, but it's a classic that I hope they keep) & modernized (well, the elevator isn't modern, but they... The Frances used to be my favorite hotel in Guadalajara. It is not known to be overly clean, but on one visit (my last) I was really grossed out. The rooms are big with comfortable furniture. I usually stayed in the same, large suite with two tiny balconies, overlooking the pedestrian only street below... charming. But what was the most... More

This 400 year old hotel is moderately-priced, incredibly charming and centrally-located near many historical sights. If you enjoy walking to cafes, shopping and nightlife, this is the place to stay. The expansive lobby features a small bar with live Mariachi and singers for guests to enjoy. Climb the impressive staircase (or take the lovely antique elevator) to the terraza for... More

I booked online but when I arrived at the hotel at 9pm there were 2 people on the desk - one was playing with his cell phone and the other looked at me as if I was mad when I told him I had a reservation. Took a long while to check and didn't say anything - I had to... More
