We have traveled throughout Mexico avoiding tourist areas but wanting to eat well and stay comfortable. One of the best places we stayed was Posada Del Tepozteco. The food was very well prepared. The staff were helpful but in the background. The hotel itself is beautiful with a vista of the entire Tepoztlan valley. The only negative was the steep... More

My original plan for Tepotzan had been to drive in, park near the zocalo and on foot check out a few different hotels. The Posada was on the list, although it was more expensive than we usually choose. In the end, we chose this hotel mainly because it was the first we came upon after a 10-hr drive (many hrs... More

My girlfriend and I decided to spend a couple of days in Tepoztlán, and we chose Posada del Tepozteco for a single night. The hotel is quite expensive for the region (from 150 to 300 USD per night), so you would expect excellent accomodations and service. We visited several rooms, and we found that they were ok, although quite old... More

We just came back from 2 nights at the posada and had a wonderful stay! The property is breathtakingly beautiful and the service is very good. The hotel also connected us with an excellent hiking guide for a spectacular full day hike into the mountains above the Tepozteco ruins. This was our favorite part of the entire 2 week trip!... More

Tepozteco is an easy one hour drive south of Mexico City. With a population of barely over 30,000 and a phenomal sunday market we were thrilled to be out of the pollution of Mexico City and amazed that such a darling little town could be so close to the city. The town is at the center of a bowl like... More

This is the most amazing hotel in a truly stunning location about an hour or so outside Mexico City. I was here on business for just two nights and would love to go back as tourist. The hotel is very small and intimate, with only 20 or so rooms. I am sure I must have had the best room in... More

I have just returned from a week's stay at Posada del Tepozteco in Tepotzlan. Stunning location and lovely hotel: artfully designed, peaceful and restorative. It has beautifully landscaped, terraced public spaces and incredible mountain views. Very solicitous and courteous staff. The manager, Alejandro, a prince among managers! Food quite good, too. All raves for this hotel.

Every Spring, my wife and I travel abroad and try to find some little charming places to stay and eat, avoiding the big cities and the chain cookie-cutter rooms inside the big hotels. Last year we stayed at the “Quinta da Capela”, a bed and breakfast in the heart of the Sintra forest, a World Heritage designated area, in Portugal.... More

The Posada del Tepozteco is the most wonderfully romantic hotel we have ever stayed in. Sitting in the dining room eating excellent gourmet food, looking out past the fountain and flower gardens to the cathedral in the town below-- it has to be the best! The rooms are all different, each offering unique accommodations, at various prices. There are two... More
