I had a wonderful experience at Casa del Encanto this past spring. It was my first accommodation after arriving in Barra de Potosi (also for the first time), and I was struck by the unique charm of each room and the welcoming feel of the common areas and outdoor patio space. It's a peaceful place to relax, read a book,... More

We are familiar with Casa del Encanto from our many trips and extended stays in the area. We were excited to spend some time at the luxurious candle lit inn on our most recent trip, which included two grandmothers, two teenagers, my husband and myself. The amazing thing about slipping into Laura's world is that it is so welcoming and... More

Arriving in Barra de Potosi and looking for a place to stay a few nights I met a local person and asked if he knew of a spot. He took me to Laura's B and B in the village. What a treasure in a local village. A very unique experience to be able to be immerse in the local culture.... More

Laura's colorful B&B immediately makes you feel welcome and at home, truly part of the family. The rooms are twice as big as I imagined from the pictures. Breakfast filled me up .. pitchers of fresh squeezed orange juice and plates of fresh fruits and fresh bread and pastries and granola and yogurt (luckily you can walk or swim alot... More

We landed almost by mistake in Barra de Potosi. Now we want nothing more than to go back. Gorgeous beach, 178 species of birds in the lagoon, fresh local-caught seafood & street food so cheap & good you wish you could just eat all day, and the most comfortable beds we found in Mexico. What more could one want when... More

My family stayed here in late December and found it sublime. Dona Laura, the owner, has put heart and soul into making a comfortable, laid back, casual inn. The house is very comfy, an indoor/outdoor place with lounging spots for meeting other guests or just doing your own thing. She is a wonderful hostess, loves the area and is happy... More

From the moment we walked into this amazing B&B, we were enchanted. The rooms are gorgeous, large indoor/outdoor with lots of cozy cuddling corners. Laura, the hostess, welcomed us as more like family than guests. She shared an unending supply of coconut water and mangoes, and provided a delicious breakfast complete with full-flavored coffee. I would highly recommend a stay... More

The title of this review are words often said by those who stay here yearly - and Casa del Encanto has MANY annual visitors who stay for extended periods every year and enjoy it very much. Some stay at Villa Tapirasio across the street as well (it has bug screens) but Casa del Encanto has the feel of a mexican... More

I prepaid the trip and when i got there laura gave me the most expensive room in order to stay in that room i had to pay an additional three hundred dollars. I GOT BED BUGS AND had to see a doctor. The breakfast was the same thing and the same granola for the seven days that i did stay... More

My friends and I stayed here following a recommendation from a friend of mine, and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in the Green Coconut room for the first night, but the cockerel outside our window didn't seem to respect normal sleeping hours, so moved to the Blue Room for the rest of our stay. There were so many unique touches... More
