WOW!! After traveling around the world we wanted a semi close and tropical beach vacation. We read about this hotel in 1,000 Places to See Before You Die as well as Conde Nast. This hotel is absolutely amazing, the staff went above and beyond our expectations. The setting is private, quiet, romantic and beautiful. We happen to get stuck in... more

We returned yesterday having spent a week at the Tides. It was in a nutshell a most wonderful experience. The property is intimate, spotless and refined. We stayed in a deluxe room and it was just that - deluxe. We are beach people and are there by 10 AM and leave at 6 PM. We cannot imagine the need for... more

My husband and I went to The Tides for five days in April. On our first day in Zihuatanejo, we ate only at the hotel - lunch on the beach (which is fabulous) and dinner at La Marea, one of the hotel's restaurants. The next morning, I woke up with major food poisoning. The hotel called a doctor, who came... more

First of all, The Tides should be ranked as the #1 hotel in all of Mexico. We have traveled all around Mexico and have never come across a hotel that is completely perfect in every way. Upon arrival, we were greeted by our driver and escorted to The Tides, which is located conveniently only 25 minutes from the airport. One... more

We just got back from here and celabrated our 30th wedding aniversary. This place is so beautiful. We had thought of going to a all inclusive because of price and Im glad we chose the tides instead. If you want the more secluded feel and out of a hotel zone this is it. Great small beach with clear warm water.Beach... more

My husband and I just came back from Zihuatanejo for our 14th wedding anniversary. We were thrilled with the resort. However there are a few kinks for the The Tides to iron out. We stayed in a beach suite (which was amazing) but it seems that each guest who has a beach suite is given a designated Palapa with a... more

I love seeing all the great reviews for Hotel Villa del Sol (now called The Tides). I have a long history with this place and it will always hold a place in my heart. My husband and I were married here in 2000 and we now bring our children! I've watched the hotel transform from a small, quaint hotel into... more

My family and I just returned from the Tides in Zihuatanejo. Our experience was nothing short of OUTSTANDING. The resort is located on a beautiful beach. Although the beach is public, the resort is very secluded and allows for mingling with the locals. In addition, the service is awesome and very well maintained. The resort itself has all the amenities,... more

We returned from our paradise vacation at the Tides Zihuatanejo a few weeks ago and we are still buzzing! From the moment we stepped out of the taxi into the open air lobby, to the greeting to the first walk on the grounds, we had an incredible experience at this hotel. The service was top notch - we had at... more
