We chose this hotel to eat at their famous restaurant. Imagine on my arrival to find out the chef was not there and we were the ONLY guests in the whole hotel. From the moment we arrived it was clear the rude and miserable owners did not want us there as I believe they had to employ a full range... More

This is a charming little hotel (45 rooms) in the little town of San Blas. It is the #1 choice of birders and bird tours. The rooms are simple. There is a nice pool, a nice garden area, a ping pong table, & a palapa. The restaurant is very good (open 8-10 a.m. for breakfast then re-opens at 1 p.m.).... More

When the room service staff are standing at attention, all in a row on your arrival, you know there has to be something special about the hotel. This is truly a family run business. The matron, a lovely 80+ woman often sat in the lobby communicating with her daughter, the front-desk manager. The lobby is spacious and comfortable. The hotel lobby... More

We wanted to see more than just puerto Vallarta this trip so drove to Nyarit area. We booked for the Garza Canale and while approaching the hotel found the surrounding area less than appealing with the garbage strewn everywhere. Once inside the grounds it was meticulous. Every part of this hotel is cared for and the entire staff is attentive... More

I contacted the hotel thru their website and received prompt reply back answering every question as we were traveling via TAP bus from Mazatlan. Josephina gave us excellent information to get to hotel. It was quiet, clean, and had an excellent restaurant on site with fine service. As we arrived at 8 pm via cab from Tepic, we were glad... Spent a week at this hotel. Clean and very friendly staff. The restaurant food was great, a little pricey, but worth it. Everything is close. We walked a lot to town, the beach and the wonderful bakery. The river boat ride was a lot of fun seeing the different wildlife. This non-commercialized area was relaxing and definitely worth it. There... More

Checked in this morning after about 2 hour drive north from Vallarta. Relaxing in AC. This is probably the best hotel in San Blas, where most if not all others seen when driving around today seemed rather funky. We have clean, comfortable, large 2 room suite with 2 Queen beds. Not elegant and certainly worn but at higher end of... More

We stayed here but one night, but returned for other occasions. This is a wonderful hotel a bit distant from the downtown area of San Blas, but such a gem that it ought not to be ignored. The premises are enclosed, the rooms clean and sufficiently spacious. All staff we encountered we pleasant, and the desk staff are most helpful.... More

A friend and I spent a week at this hotel while on a bird watching trip in the San Blas area. The hotel caters to birders, offering help in obtaining a guide (if needed) and providing information regarding boat trips through the mangroves. The room was alright (undoubtedly the best hotel in San Blas) and the attached restaurant had excellent... More

we enjoyed a four day stay at hotel garza canela during holy week. the atmosphere was very relaxing, something we hadn't experienced in some months. the attention from the vazquez family was excellent as always. wakening to swaying palm trees, tropical flowers and a deliciously prepared breakfast was a treat for all of us.
