This place is a dump, worse place I ever walked into(and walked right out of, we did not stay here). I never been to hell, but I think it has to be better then this place. After a nice long drive out of town we walked into this so called hotel and you could feel the bad karma, it took... More

Good morning Ozzie, We hope you will accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience in your vacations in Puerto Vallarta, Jal. MX. We know all the problems in the property and now we make a hard work to offer to our guest a very good experience and suites. To avoid such problems in the future, we take Mar Sereno in... More

Although it is quite far from the main town, it was perfect for us. There was a public bus which came right to the hotel frequently, and all the locals from the neighbouring towns would be on there, which made us feel like we were in Mexico, not just another American town. The receptionist was extremely helpful, and our room... More

Beautiful ocean view, but that's about it. The place is not in the best conditions, pool is very cold, jacuzzi was not working, are not fully equipped, and many things don't work.

My father and brother stayed at the Mar Sereno for a couple of nights and I spent a lot of time visiting them. The hotel does not offer grand luxury but the room they stayed in was large, clean and comfortable and, in my opinion, it offers excellent value for money compared to similar options such as Casa Anita y... We stayed here for 4 days 3 nights. The room we had was nice and clean we had a great view. Cost was reasonable, the receptionist was extremely nice and helpful. The location was a bit far (30 minutes) from the actual city (45 minutes from the airport). This hotel does not have walk access to the beach and does... More

My boyfriend and I have traveled the world. When I go to Mexico I don't expect -or want- some sort of luxury American style hotel. This place looked perfect because of the pool/hottub and ocean views, etc. So, I tried to book through their website and that wasn't working, I then emailed Oscar, who said I could reserve by going... A family next door one night summed it up - since their last stay 6 years ago the Mar Sereno has really gone downhill. They left the next day. Pool was cold and not seen to be cleaned, kitchen sink leaked into mouldy, buggy cupboard, bathroom door wouldn't close, only food service breakfast & lunch and not always what you... More

Well, if you are looking for an upscale American type hotel, do not stay here and give it a bad review. If you are looking for Mexican hospitality, with all the great and quirky Mexican ingenuity, style and ambiance - this is it. The hotel is older and not everything is perfect, but this did not affect our stay in... More

We found Mar Sereno on TripAdvisor and were well aware of the type of hotel we were visiting. We have traveled a fair amount and have stayed at a number of mid-range hotels in both Latin America and Europe. The hotel staff and location deserve an "Excellent" rating. Miguel was especially helpful and informative. The location can't be beat since... More
