I have stayed at this place twice. It is an older hotel but the location is great. It is in the Zona Romantica, where all the bars and beaches are so you can walk every where. Five star properties are hard to find in this part of town but if you do stay in Nuevo Vallarta you will have to... More

This is my second stay, and I miss the former staff (Carlos especially). German is still there thankfully. I had a tiny room that was noisy. When I asked to be moved to another room I was told no, even though the hotel was HALF EMPTY. Internet service only worked in the lobby, not in my room, which wasn't great... More

Stayed at the Abbey during recently vacation. Great value and location. Staff was extremely helpful....food was very good...and the atmosphere was quiet. Pool area was clean and well maintained. Room was clean...and comfortable. Overall, I would highly recommend. More

After a sleepless night at a shabby noisy dump (which shall remain nameless - the staff were very nice), I found the Abbey and spent five peaceful nights there. The location is perfect: one block from the beach and in the center of bars and restaurants. My room was small but clean and overlooked the bay (and down to the... More

This was my second time in Puerto Vallarta. My partner and I are from the east coast, and we dropped in for 5 days. The hotel is beautiful for Puerto Vallarta standards in the Romantic Zone where everything is old and rugged. They have a nice pool and hot tub, and everything is very clean. The staff, with the exception... More

Was very pleased with our stay at the Abbey Hotel. I had read many posts before booking so I knew that it was going to be "rustic", but clean and friendly. This is EXACTLY what we experienced. We are used to Starwood luxury, but of course didn't find it here, but that was fine--we didn't expect it. All in all... More

Had another wonderful 7 night stay at the Abbey. This hotel is all about location, location, location. Can't be beat. We had a room on the sixth floor with breathtaking views and sunsets over the Pacific. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is an easy to use safe. The decor is rustic and very Mexican. If you want... More

My new one word definition of customer service is "Carlos". This man epitomizes gracious hospitality while maintaining casual professionalism. My cab pulled up in front of the hotel and by the time I reached the front desk Carlos had my registration card and keys out and greeted me with "welcome back mr. B......" My previous visit was fifteen months prior!... More

This hotel is in a perfect location in the Zona Romantica downtown. Me and 2 friends stayed here on either end of a trip to Yelapa. One night before and 2 nights after. On our first night we had a crappy room on the first floor. It smelled of mold and the sheets were suspect. The final 2 nights we... More

We booked this hotel thru Air Canada Vacations, which was VERY expensive, direct from Montreal. The good point was the private transportation from the airport thru the Abbey Hotel. They advertise themselves as being a '' gay'' hotel, even on air canada vacations. But when we arrived there, we had a warm welcome from Carlos, but for our entire stay,... More
