Decent room with a great view. Great area with easy access to Romantic zone. Staff was always helpful and friendly. Bed was a bit hard but otherwise, a good place to stay. I felt safe at all times even late at night.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hotel Torre Oro (Formerly Abbey Hotel) from 1/8/14 to 2/26/14 for 50 days. This hotel is the best, perfect location. Also, the hotel now is immaculate my room was sparkling clean. I had breakfast in the restaurant at inside the hotel almost every morning, was alsays very good. The waiter Sal,... More

I have never stayed at this hotel and never will. Have you read the other reviews about how loud the air conditioning system is? Well, it's true. We recently rented a condo behind the hotel, which was closed at the time. Once the hotel reopened, the compressor started up. It's incredibly loud, going on for 5-10 minutes every half hour,... First, off I want to say if you want luxury, then try Paramount Bay condominiums. I stayed there last year and love it. Infinity pool, modern appliances and door man building but, if you want convenience then The Abbey is the place for you. To get to Paramount Bay you have to climb a million steps and cross a busy... need a lot of improvements. Everything seemed old and used. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. Whenever we were out of the hotel, I was ok. As soon as we re-entered the room, less than five minutes later, i started coughing. The bed's headboard and the night stand smelled so awful that we had to sleep with our feet... More

Our room was located directly above the hotel's A/C unit, so all day/night we had the loud sound from the fans. The rooms were adequate. The staff friendly. The manager friendly. We were a little put off when we arrived to be told they did not take credit cards but would take cash or PayPal. The pool is small and... More

The only pluses for this hotel are the location and a really good breakfast for the price, but there are other hotels, condos and guest houses in the same area that are a better value and better maintained. \We travel to Puerto Vallarta often and have stayed in many different hotels, condominiums and B&B's. This trip, we thought that we... More

My nephew and I, having often been to PV decided to check out the Abbey as we had heard that they had nice suites for rent and were gay friendly and we were looking to rent for a month or so. All of their advertising promoters friendly to everyone..... well not in our experience. The nephew is gay I am... More

After 2 stays and 17 nights I give up on Abbey. My first stay I faithfully returned the beach towel each day and upon checkout was told I failed to do this on the last day and was charged for it. Crazy. They even inferred it might be in my luggage. Insulting. My second stay I went back a few... More

I have stayed at the Abbey several times over the years. The place has not changed. The location is really good and the rooms are fairly good. The rooms are not as dated or dirty as other hotels that I have seen in PV. The air conditioning works well. The rooms do not normally have a fridge in them unless... More
