I found the rooms to be very outdated, as the bathrooms were old and dingy. We waited several minutes for any kind of hot water. The beds were very old and worn, as well as the entire room. I now understand why their prices are as low as they are. This is not a hotel that I would recommend to... more

The hotel is not luxurious. It provides your basic accommodations. Be sure to bing an alarm clock. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, it was rainy season and, due to the elections, all bars, clubs shut down at Friday Midnight and reopened at 1201 AM on Monday. Parties were held in the hotel rooms. Had a great time.... more

This was my second stay at the Mercurio and I was not disappointed. I arrived from El D.F. on June 4th and in order to avoid the Time-share people had used the Hotel's pick up service, which was fast and friendly. My room was 301 on the top floor of the hotel, it is small but perfectly fine for a... more

My partner and I recently stayed 4 nights there in May and although the staff was nice the rooms were as dated and dingy as they come. We booked it after reading the reviews as we usually stay at another hotel in PV but thought we would try this one. We prepaid or we would have left on the first... more

Recently spent 7 days at Mercurio and was very pleased. The staff was great, the atmosphere great and homey. Small but nice pool with bar. It's an easy walk to the gay beach, many resturants, the gay bars and the malecon. more

I'm very glad I decided on PV as a destination for the week of my birthday and totally glad I chose this place to stay. I usually don't require the amenities and aesthetics of a 4 star hotel, but Mercurio has 4 star service. My room was average at best but it was everything I needed and then some. It... more

This is the 4th year in a row that my partner and I have stayed at this hotel. On the three previous visits we had not heard of or seen it. The staff remembers us each year and greets us by name when we arrive. Hotel Mercurio was formerly a family hotel, so the owner and staff have continued to... more

This hotel has a great staff, and is centrally located in the gay area of PV. Everything gay is only a short walk from Mecurio, including the gay beach. While the rooms are nothing to write home about, they are functional and clean. The decor is a little dated, but the value can't be beat. The staff was always friendly... more

I am yet another from Toronto who stayed at this charming hotel !! I arrived Feb.15th and departed Mar.24th. I have stayed here many times and will continue to do so in the future !! The beds are ultra comfortable and for anyone who has stayed at various hotels in Vallarta will know this is NOT the case at many... more

The Hotel El Mercurio is a gay hotel in the old town section of PV. I paid US$110/night for 3 nights then got a 10% discount for paying cash on check out. Overall US$94/night. I was a solo traveler and was given a queen size bed in a relatively small room. The dimensions of the room were approx. 11' x... more
