i had a wonderful stay at the san marino once i got over the room. the facility, the food, the atmosphere, the service were all amazing but the rooms are old and dingy. they are very clean but you can only do so much when all the finishes are so old.

First I must preface this review with the location of this hotel was my choice and mistake. I like very quiet beach time, This hotel is on the most populated beach in Puerto Vallarta. It has not only two large flanking hotels but several great resturants that host cruise excursions. That said it is not a great hotel. The room... More

Do immediately ask for the bed mattress "cushion covers" at the front desk. Even if you like a good stiff bed---these are rock hard and they screwed up my back within days. If you get a suite with an ocean view---very worth it for about 25$ extra per day---you get a lot more room and the view----WOW! It makes the... More

Despite reading some poor reviews on Trip Advisor for this property, we had an unbelievable stay here. Thinking we might have to bargain for a better room after booking just the standard room on Expedia.com, we were very pleased to arrive and find we were assigned a room with a partial ocean view on the 5th floor. The balcony room... More

Enjoyed my recent two week stay at the San Marino Hotel. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The San Marino is located in a great location right on the beach with lots of amenities close by. My room was located on the 3rd Floor (311) facing the front of the hotel facing the road and the hill. I could... More

Not sure my review is required because there are so many below. Yes this is an older hotel but the location is great if you want to stay in older PV. We stayed in a superior room and yes they needed updating especially the washrooms. The price was good and of course everyone's expectations are different. If you have been... More

Loved the location but that would be all, A very standard hotel at best. If you wanted to lay on the beach you should be prepared to be bothered by peddlers every couple of min. Chairs uncomfortable, We did have a nice view as we had oceanfront deluxe and we were on the 4th floor. Food was average Drinks poor.... More

Not pleased with this hotel at all. Looks great from the photos and outside however the rooms in the old section are dated. Black mould on the 40 yr old bathroom ceiling, no towel bars or fan in bathroom for air circulation. Room was dark and had a foul smell to it. Bed if you call them that were box... More
