This is an older style, Mexican owned and run Hotel. The staff are very nice and the maids are great! If you’re lucky, Isobel will be yours. The rooms are Spartan and spotlessly clean, but some folks might not like the mismatched tile or the funky mismatched furniture. The rooms are an amazing value for the money, but be prepared... The hotel staff are great. The rooms need an update. The doors are paper thin and offer almost no security to outside threats. My door frame was in terrible condition and they need to be replaced with solid wood/steel with dead bolts. Only chains very available. No in room safe but security boxes are in the lobby. Wifi in lobby... More

Was at this hotel in a suite for a week, and although it would not suit some, for me it was very good. Contrary to previous reviews, there was an inside chain lock on the door, which I augmented with a rubber wedge from home. The bed was comfortable, the view was great. Although the WiFi did not work in... More

We really enjoyed our visit here Feb.18-24th. For us it was well worth the Suite (rather than std. room): King size comfortable bed, very clean and a oceanfront room. A very nice staff. It's important to stress that this was perfect for us...why ???? We went to Los Muertos Beach every day plus we ate out every night. So if... More

We booked a standard suit in this hotel in January 2015. The accommodation included a kitchenette. The hotel is in a great beachside location and the staff were very friendly and helpful during our near three week stay her. The living area is very comfortable and shower and bathroom are very good and clean. However the kitchenette which is situated on... More

We had a fantastic time at the Emperador, The front staff were helpful, they had computers to use free as well as free wifi in the lobby, my sister had a room close to the lobby and received wifi in her room. The rooms are plain but comfortable and well worth the price I thought, our room was clean with... More

We stayed here 4 nights in December 2014, thought that it was good value for the cost. We paid a little more for an ocean-side room which was worth it for the private patio and breezes. It's definitely a local place, a little dated, but we prefer this flavor when we travel. Location was off the beaten path so we... More

Checked in 1/6/2015 for 11 nights. We purchased a $53 a night deal. Room is very small so we decided to upgrade immediately. 2 $100 USD bills got us a great rate and a room for 4 with a outdoor kitchen. the rooms are plain and simple. cleaned daily. Very, very nice and polite and RESPECTFUL.....that is what Mexico is... More

Vallarta is quite spread out, therefore choose your stay based on where you want to be and what you want. Emperador is near the beach and has rooms with and without views, with and without kitchenettes. It is old with single pane windows and you will hear all noise. You will have walking access to all the areas and restaurants... More
